Some people... What's a suitable punishment for this guy?

Check this out... a guy in a SUV runs a stop sign and runs over a 9-year-old kid. He stops just long enough to pull the kid's bike from under his tires, then he drives on. Luckily, the kid was with his 9-year-old friend who carries him home and calls 911. They caught the guy who did the hit and run and a lady who was in the SUV with him.
What do you think they should do to the guy who thought it was ever so important to remove the bicycle from his tires, but not stop and see if the kid was okay?

But what is a suitable punishment? What he did was unspeakable.

I think he should be charged with attempted murder for his depraved (I'm not sure of the spelling)indifference toward this boy's life.

I can think of an entire list of charges against this man. Hit and run, assault with a deadly weapon, failure to yield, reckless driving... the list goes on and on. Find him guilty on all accounts and make him serve is sentences consecutively.

Fortunately, they did catch him AND the female passenger who didn't have the heart to get out of the car and make sure the kid(s) were okay. I can't wait to find out what the sentence is for that.

jeez, what has become of our world? I think he should be given life imprisonment. He is like committing murder!

Hi, unfortunately hit and run accidents are common. As for a punishment, all I can say I'm glad Im not on the jury because I don't know what is acceptable punishmnt for a hit and run accident.I had a boss who's wife hit a kid with the car, she was so shaken up but she did not leave the kid by himself.I don't remember what type of punishment she got.

Your boss's wife didn't run. This guy hit a kid with his truck, removed the bike from under the truck (knowing he hit the kid) and then just drove away. Your boss's wife may not have gotten any punishment; depending on the circumstances, she doesn't deserve any. But this guy... he KNEW the kid was hurt, he KNEW he was in the wrong, and he did what he could to pretend like it never happened. He cared NOTHING for the kid he hit.

I think you should drive up to his house with a mobile car crusher and crush his SUV as he watches, revoke his driver's license permanently, put a tracking bracelet on him, fine him $5,000, and sentence him to be run over with an SUV at a random place and location. He'd be paranoid for a few months while he paid off his fine, then when he drops his guard, put out a contract (paid for with the fine) to run him over. Basta*d. Or maybe better you just force him to sign over ownership of the SUV and use his own SUV to run him over, then crush it.

That sounds more like it. Maybe THEN he'd have his just desserts.
