Why is it indecent to ask a girl about her age?

a boy and a girl - boy never mind talking about their age but girls do. This differentiation is also there between the two. But why is it so?

We boys don't mind it and I can't figure out why a girl should. Do you know why they say that asking a girl about her age is not a decent thing to do?

when it comes to young people and dating it is very important, you don't want to be 20 years old dating someone 14 but thinking she is your age. It is considered not polite to ask any older woman like your mother's age how old she is.

Well, I think a lot of it is most people do not want to really admit how old they are for fear people might think them as Looking OLD, or just ashamed to admit or tell someone as they never felt it appropriate to do so. Personally I am 44, and do not mind admitting it, and feel I look good for my age as well.

I think this is a social habit that will be out of style in 10 more years. It comes from the idea that women that are beyond child bearing age are not as valuable as those that can still bear children.

I think it's rude to ask anyone older then you about their age, male or female. That's just how I was brought up.

I think years ago it was impolite, as thats the way it was done then and it showed respect to women. I do not think it is bad to ask a lady now adays her age as it is more common and ok to do so in my opinion.

Because we work so hard and pat so much to look younger. Men get distinguished as they get older, women just get old.

I guess it really depends on the women that you get to ask that question. I have asked those that looked younger than me of their age and get surprised that they are actually older! So to say, its a compliment for them to realize that they look younger on my point of view. I have also asked older looking women of their age and sometimes, even if they do answer, they don't give me something creditable. (^_^") Some might get offended when one asks their age so, it really varies for every woman.

cause they don't want ya to know how old they are... with enough makeup.. they can fool ya into believe they are 20 for at least 30 years!

But that can be done by telling a lie (and we won't mind that either as they all ways speak fraud) why to feel bad when someone asks them their age?

Asking a girl on about her age is not that bad...if she is a kid or a teenager.Once a girl reach 20 you must know-NEVER ask a girl about her age.Asking a girl for her age is not good because womens like to hide their age because they can use makeup to hide the signs of the time on their faces. Some girls take the age question like a hidden message that they are old.I think these are the main reasons for girls to hate the age questions.I don`t mind talking about my age but I`m still young.Happy MyLotting!

Some girls are insecure about their age, y'know? I think it's an unspoken rule that if she looks over 25, you shouldn't ask her age. She'll tell you in His time. I personally don't mind if people ask for my age. I think I look just right for my age--maybe even younger. So I don't have a complaint. =)

I think it is society. Women are suppose to be as young as they can be.Their men are suppose to be older than they.So when you ask a woman her age, it is like trying to find out how if she is worthy enough to be with you. I know it sounds stupid and it is but I think that is why.

I think it is not indecent it is just rude. Women are naturally conscious about their looks and of course age tells a lot about how they look. I think that is why they are really uncomfortable when someone asks their age.
