My son got head lice at school this past week. We did the shampoos and all of that. I am worried that it will come back, it is very hard to get all of the eggs they are small and hard to get out. Since he is a boy I am going to get his hair cut too, just to make sure and make it easier to tell if they will come back. My hair is very very long and hard to get though, I did the treatment too just in case. I am afraid that the eggs will live that are near the bed, even though I have washed everything. Any advice?

My child used to come home with head lice occasionally when she first started school, and of course, we all ended up with it. I had tried everything to get rid of it, but seemed to come back and back and back.. well you get the idea.. So my mom, told me about an old home remedy that worked like a charm for hair. First apply a hot oil treatment, and with that still in your hair, add a vinigar rinse ( just douce your head with vinigar) leave it sit for a half hour ( you might want to tie a bag around your head so you dont drip all over) and then rinse it all out, dont get me wrong, your going to smell like vinigar for a bit, but I just waited an hour, and washed my hair with shampoo to get rid of the smell.. From what my mom said, the oil smoothers the eggs, and the vinigar kill the live bugs. Maybe it will work for you as well, and it beats spending the ten bucks on the lice shampoo..
One other suggestion, couple drops of tea tree oil in your shampoo is suposed to help cause they dont like it.

Thanks for the help, and yes it is annoying even though they say do the treatment in 7-10 days, you never know how well it worked.
