Hello mattwilkie! At first, I don't like to eat balut. I thought of it as grossed but then when my sister convinced me to eat it and that it really tastes good, I then convinced and ate it. It really tastes good and that it's not really that grossed at all. Why don't you give it a try? I am pretty sure you will love it.

Ew! Eating dog is grossed. I know many filipinos ate it but I don't understand either why they ate it. I guess eating dogs is against the law.

balut is very delicious. but it is a little very expensive for me now. it cost around 0.2 USD per pc. i love balut, whenever i have some extra bucks & have a bad feeling or bad mood , i eat it to make me feel good.

I eat balot but not the chick inside. I only eat the white and yellow parts, also the liquid. You must pour a salt in it to be delicious. It is said that balot will make you strong. Have a nice day!

Balut is one thing that we try to convince to our tourist to try to eat since its been a part of our culture already "eating balut" I grew up eating balut since we used to have a backyard chicken poultry before. It's taste good for me but not nice to look at it, that's why balut vendors sell it during night time so people can't see what they eat.

i used to eat balut. but quite some time only. i am an occasional eater. haha. depends how it was made. i am a little choosy when it comes to delicacy such as balut. and i do not eat the chick. only the yellow part. i know balut really looks ugly and yucky to eat but when you taste one, you'll say its delicious too. try one you're visit to philippines will never be complete without having the try to eat balut. there are other street delicacies here in the philippines, actually there are many of it, that you should try some time. anyway happy mylotting!

It is a bit dd yes, but we are used to it, though there are times that I can't eat balut. Just the thought of eating it sometimes make me want to vomit (specially imagining the chick in there). My kids on the other hand loves easting it, specially the chicks, and he likes it when he sees it. I usually eat it with my eyes closed.. LOL. I do like the yolk though and the white one. I like my balut with vinegar and salt..The best balut I had is in BAliwag stop over in San Rafael BUlacan

Hello matt! That's alright if you cannot take eating balut. Most western people just do not dare taste it. Anyway, I like eating balut but only the yolk or the yellow part. I do not want to eat the "sisiw". My sister used to tease me balut because they say that I love eating balut when I was still a child. I ate it and leave only the shell. I can't remember that anymore.

Hmmm... Balut is a delicacy here in the Philippines but a lot also don't like it. When it comes to food, I am sometimes picky and by just looking at the balut, it makes me vomit because I don't like to look at it. I don't like smell it and I don't want to taste it. A lot of people here in the Philippines really love eating the balut and I just can't figure out why they love it so much. Hehehehe...

Well its a fave dish here in the Philippines and its a bit gross for some foreigners to see us eat this delicacy. Well I can understand your feelings about it. Balut is quite a delicious delicacy here and if you try it maybe you'll like it too just close your eyes so as not to feel grossed about it. I even saw these in Fear Factor that is being offered to western contestants.

Well, balut is indeed an odd food... and even if i am Filipino... i don't really eat the whole Balut... one the yellow part... and discard the rest... but some say it is good for the health since it helps strengthen the bones... i am just not sure about that... since i don't know any scientific study that will prove that...

I loved eating balut! Hi mattwilkie.. Well, I just eat the Yolk but If the chick is small I eat them all.. But If I see that it's kinda big I don't eat everything, I imagined something and it's a little gross. It's a kinda hobbies eating balut here in the Philippines. Happy eating! Have a nice day. And try something new aside from balut, try exotic food..my sister tried it once.. She even tried fried dove and frogs... Have a nice day!
