Has anyone here applied for Child Support and if yes, did they take a fee out of every check you received?
The reason I ask is that I went there on Wednesday and I know they take out a 35 percent fee.
I forgot to ask while I was there.

Both of my kids fathers are ordered to pay child support through the courts. They do not take a fee out for mine. (When I actually get it.) Did you go through the courts or one of those companies that promise to get you the money you are owed? I know they charge a huge fee.

I didn't go through the courts. I went to Child Support Enforcement Agency.
I didn't want to go, they made me go. I am on public assistance and they told me if I didn't go to file for support I will lose my benefits.
My ex is giving me something every month but I am guessing they are trying to get me off public assistance by making sure my ex doesn't owe me more money.
I live in NC the rules may be different in the state you live in.

There is no such thing in my country... but i sure wish there is... but there is too much graft and corruption... that money that is suppose to be for social services just go to the pocket of corrupt politicians...

It should be everywhere. That's what is good about living in America. There is corruption elsewhere.

hi, I never do that before but as far as I know, there is no fee. where do you live? if you live in America, then you should go to the government office and they will help you with no fee. If you need to go to Court then all you have to do is fee for the court or other paper work, but 35% is a lot of money... try to ask around. if you need help, I can ask someone that i know about it and I will let you know. In order to do that, you need to add me as a friend so, I remember. I hope you find your way out.

I too have a child support order through child support enforcement in IL. They have taken small fees out of the child support when I do actually get it. I just found out that my state IL. thinks I was once a CA. resident and that I recieved state assisatance from them and are now making me pay it back. The only thing is that I was never a resident of CA. and never was on their state aid program, for you would have to be a resident to be eligable. I did contact CA. over this matter and they have no record of me being a resident or a state aid reicpent nor do they have any record of recieving payments from my child support like IL. told me.
