Painting or Drawing

Well only recently I've become interested in painting, so rather than colouring my pictures in pencil I've been painting them. But I still don't know which I prefer as I enjoy both painting and drawing. I like painting more because there is more possibilities to how you can colour it and what not, but sometimes you can have a good drawing then ruin it by painting... So it's hard to decide which I like more. If I go to the effort like I should and trace the original drawing before I paint it, then I would prefer painting.. So if I put in the extra effort, painting is what I now prefer to drawing. What about you?

Fair enough. I have some friends who are beginner drawers and they find that how to draw books really help. I don't recommend them but if you wish to draw and don't think you have the skill, they would really help. Most of them are aimed at very young people but that's no problem. Anywho that's not very fair on you. My father is good at art, and his father is, and my sister and I are good at drawing. My brother who wants to be good at drawing, is not. So I guess it really does come in the genes. :/ Anywho I'm sure you have other talents.

For me painting is easier than drawing...because with just a stroke of a brush I can already put shadows...background with less effort unlike drawing it takes time because I want my drawing to be very similar to the object or picture I'm drawing.
