Scared to buy anything with my Bank of America check card

I'm switching banks soon, but I was just wondering if anyone else out there finds Bank of America and the way they post things to your account kinda shady? Because I always see them holding out on posting things til the one possible moment that they can slam you with tons of fees. I am very careful but lately I'm almost afraid to use anything with their logo on it. Anyone got this problem?
