how to program car alarm remote

hi guys..i have a car..when i bought it the alarm system does not working properly..so i decided to install a new one..my problem is now my car keys become like a bunch of grapes..lol..i got the original alarm remote (with the key), the bonnet key and the new alarm remote..so i decided to reprogram the old remote to suit to the new unit..does anybody out there knows how to reprogram it??
