Hi friends, i had seen in mylot.com that almost all people are only thinking and talking about making money. they always make their discussion in "Make extra money" "earn money" money money money........... also post some comments and make discussion about educational things like your college, study, refer college etc. i have posted the discussion related to college and study no one is responding whereas in about making money $$$$$ all are giving and taking suggestion. please try to be literate and post some comment on educational fields. Dont show that you have read any books and havent been to college once in a life time. Does this site only for illiterate persons and for those who are unemployed ? :(

Ouch! It will be interesting to see the reactions you get to this one umeshthapa! Yes, the "make extra money" category gets a lot of activity within it, but I can assure you that in time you will find others that also have an interest in the topics you have just mentioned too. Give it some time and you will find them and they'll find you! There are also people from many walks of life here and many, many students! If people here were illiterate, then they couldn't participate on this site at all now could they?

I don't think that most people here are illerate nor are they unemployed. There are some people from all over the world whose english may not be great but they try and for the most part you can understand them. I also don't agree that most of the topics are about making money although too many are. Just a little tip for you in case you decide to stay....Putting everyone here down is not the best way to go about getting people to respond to your other discussions. I'll bet you got many on this one though.

I am a member of MyLot and I am not unemployed or illiterate. I am a writer and I enjoy writing. MyLot has provided for me a fun, interesting way of interacting with a diversity of people while writing. The fact that MyLot pays me a little is a bonus; I am certainly not here for the money. The "Make Extra Money" section is a popular one and I regularly check it out too because, like it or not, for a lot of us a bit of extra cash would come in handy but that doesn't mean that we don't show an interest in other subjects, I know I do! Please do not generalize and insult everyone.

How would you define literate ?
I guess you would define literate as PEOPLE WHO DISCUSS COLLEGE at mylot.
Grow up my friend, there are so many interesting duscussions at mylot, earning money is just one of them. You would not see those discussions regularly unless you have marked " make extra money" as one of your interests. So i say " stop being hyppocratic or judgemental.
Few days at mylot does not make you an expert in the physiology of mylotters.
Interesting discussions like these always get more responses. Getting more responses is also an art at mylot & these illiterate people can help you with that, if you bother to ask.
Happy Mylotting !!!

This proves that you are really hyppocratic. On one hand you you generalize the whole community of myLot(which is a very fooish thing to do).
You call others illiterate even when your post & responses are filled with grammatical errors.
You have chosen "making money" as one of your interests & stupid enough to criticize others for doing that.
neither do you have the courage to accept the facts nor do you have the sense to understand the crux of discussions.
You are not cut out for a social site, because you are "arrogant" . sorry I think i made an error i should have said " stupid, ignorant & arrogant"

Actually, it does make me cringe a little to see the appalling mis-use of the English language from so many on this site. It makes me believe that so many members here either have English as a second language or those who did grow up in English speaking countries are just too lazy to write in a way that people can actually understand. It's sad.

Dear Raven , try writing chinese as good as a chinese, or korean, why don't you try hindi.!!!!
Why all this fuss over a Language. It is only a means of communication, like sign language .
If you really care about e(E)nglish .Try & encourage people who try the Language, even i they are doing mistakes in the process. Welcome people into the forum as they are and you will see what a wonderful place this is.

my friend you have seen nothing yet.
yes it is sad but true that most of the population here is with the only intension to earn money. the most irritating part is when you think you have create a very good discussion and people would be interested to respond to you will see no reply and you can find huge list of reply to the most boring questions like what are you wearing etc.

Do you even know the meaning of the word "illerate"? It means :
–adjective 1. unable to read and write: an illiterate group.
2. having or demonstrating very little or no education.
3. showing lack of culture, esp. in language and literature.
4. displaying a marked lack of knowledge in a particular field: He is musically illiterate.
–noun 5. an illiterate person."
In other countries it means :
Unable to read and write.
Having little or no formal education.
Marked by inferiority to an expected standard of familiarity with language and literature.
Violating prescribed standards of speech or writing.
Marked by inferiority to an expected standard of familiarity with language and literature.
Violating prescribed standards of speech or writing.
Ignorant of the fundamentals of a given art or branch of knowledge: musically illiterate.
Just because someone chooses not talk about or discuss college. It does not make them illerate. Just for the record I want to add all persons on this site are literate. Even if some are bad spellers or make alot of typos. But they choose to read what they wish. Not what you want.

A couple of points in reply to your observations:
Firstly people use MyLot rather than Myspace or other forum because they can earn a little money for their activity...mostly they enjoy themselves whilst postingbut the botto line is that MyLot pays money...No surprise then that some of the more greedy ignorant ones are here as well as the more esoteric intelligent ones...
Secondly, you have 'earning money' in your favourite activities... 'go figure' as our American friends might say...

You seem to be young, arrogant and insulting. What gives you the right to be this way please? You have been a member here for 5 minutes and you think you know everyone and why they are here? I don't think so. Most of us here are older and our college and school days are over. Some of us are disabled and/or on a pension or low income. Some of us are single, some are married and have young families...there's no end to it really. Those of us in the work force come from many different areas of employment. We come from all around the world from all walks of life, all colours, ages and religions.
Broaden your outlook and try and see what happens here ...we are an incredibly diverse community.

This lady is saying you belittled her and insulted her.
Zandi, he is young and foolish and does not know what myLot is about. He could take some lessons from you I am sure. He has no reason to make out he is superior to anyone in the myLot community.

MsTickle, I really feel insulted about this post and I hope the poster can send a public apology for undermining the intelligence of the community here. Even with my three sentence response confuse him. He definitely need to grow and learn to communicate in a literate way.

I thoroughly agree with what you are saying.
I have been using myLot for six months now and only have reached the two dollar mark.
What is exciting about that?
I studied guitar for six years at the Royal Conservatory of Music and my last year was for theory.
I have honors in first class for every year and have travelled across Canada playing everyone elses music.
Now I just sit around and write and record my own songs.
I have given a thousand of my cds away in the last year.
What are you into?
Crocket.

hi... saying that all are illiterate is a judgement! you never know what are the educational background of the people here in mylot. have you made a survey thats why your saying that all are illiterate? anyway maybe the reason why no one posted a response on your post is maybe you have not catch the attention of the mylotters. it also happen to me i have posted a discussion that i thought interesting to all but unfortunately it was not. so dont get upset if no one posted on your discussion. you have all the freedom in this world as well as in mylot to post topics that you think interesting to most of us. if you think that the topic is not interesting i guess you have an intelligent approach on how to catch our attention.
be happy and be blessed.

You sound a bit miffed with what is going around with the money earning process in mylot. But I feel there is no harm in doing so and also I don't doubt on the literary ability for earning more money. In fact one can't earn in mylotting if one is illiterate. Keep posting educational stuff, my friend, I shall try discussing next time.

When I started out I was just in it for the money, but now I use mylot as a information portal. But here is the sad part, the information that I seek is mostly about making money online. Through mylot I have learned about some great, legitimate ways to make money online. But I am not illiterate or unemployed; I work a full time job 36 hrs a week and read every day. It is good that you have challenged people to post about something besides making money.

Hello my dear umeshthapa ji,
You are very much right in your thinking. Any body joins any of these on-line sites is just to make money. I know money is some thing, but not everything. There are many topics in our life, which one should discuss. I am also not here to make money. I enjoy comapny from International community freely. But Money is of big importance in the life of many among us. may god bless you and have a great time.

HI umesh dont get angry, all people are having their own interest, so based on that interest they respond. I left study 9 years back right now i m not in a position to discuss educational topics. yeah i can discussion practical things, technical things.
After age of 30yers most of the person think about many, whenever u check make extra money just check out their age. Most of the people of this world give first priority to money. That's the reason behind this.Happy Mylotting.

Umeshthapa, I think we have to define what "Illiterate" means. According to Encarta Dictionary, "Illiterate" means having inadequate education in or knowledge of a particular subject, or none at all.
Now, just because nobody responded to the discussion you posted about educational things, still you can't conclude that almost everybody here in myLot is illiterate. Maybe, they are not interested in responding to it. They are more interested in topics where they can make money. And not all people who have gone to college succeed in life. They are just fortunate because they can afford education. Everybody in myLot has the freedom to chose what discussion to respond to. MyLot doesn't discriminate. So, I think it is not right to conclude that almost all are illiterate here. Nobody has the right to say that.

You are Right buddy.
Everyone seems only interested in money making discussion.
Have seen some different topics but they are usually unattended by majority of users.
This should be a place for knowledge growth.
Hope everyone will take interest in another topic and make this site a better knowledge source.
