First, let me say that I fully and truly support our military. BUT - I was watching Fox news this morning, Obama wants to lift the ban on gays in the Military. It seems to me they are not "banned". We have been operating on Clinton's "Don't ask don't tell" policy. Now, we will have an openly gay military complete with sensitivity training. What the heck? Sensitivity training for our soldiers? Have you ever been around a group of Marines? My brother is one, I work with the Marine Corp League around here. Sensitivity training is not what they need! I would like the liberals to stay away from these guys. These men throw their bodies in front of ours. They are brainwashed, they love their guns. THESE ARE SOLDIERS for crying out loud!
What are your views on this? Will they have to change their uniforms? Maybe something in pink..........

AS LONG AS THEY KEEP THEM IN AN OFFICE IT'S FINE WITH ME*****This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me my rifle is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than the enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will. My rifle and I know that what counts in war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, or the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit.
My rifle is human, even as I am human, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strengths, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will keep my rifle clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other.
Before God I swear this creed. My rifle and I are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy. SEMPRE FI

SEMPRE FI Marine! And you gave me goose bumps! I think the office is a good place. I feel this way about women in the military as well - yes I am a woman. There are a million jobs for them, the battle ground is not it! I say embrace our differences!
Thank you SIR for your service to America!

i think this is a good thing, in the UK sexuality in the army is prety open really, a friend of mine is in the army and is openly gay, i think that this is a great way to dispel alot of the sterieo types around gay men, he has shown that just because he is gay it dosnt mean that he is not strong or cant do 'manly' things, he has shown that he is just as 'manly' as the straight men in the army.

The military is absolutely NOT the place for social experimentation or agenda. The military's only purposes are to protect us and to kill people and break things in doing so if nessesary. they operate under a differnt set of rules and laws, they are a different society. To try and re create it as the same sort of soceity that civilians live in is insane, rediculous, impossible and DANGEROUS.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
Very well put!
I just want them to keep me safe. They should NOT have have sensitivity training because they should NOT be sensitive!
We spend so much time and money making them tough killing machines, why would we try to deprogram them?
I just don't get it!

I don't think that there is anything wrong with this. Sensitivity training doesn't mean that they aren't going to have combat training, it just means that they are getting additional training. If anything I think that this is a good thing. If these guys are taught to be sensitive to eachother, they may very well work better as a group. I don't know why everyone seems to have such a big issue with this. I think we should worry about ourselves and let them deal with their own training.

Please see the above response.

GI stands for Government Issue. When somebody enlists, they become "property" of the US government. This is one reason why it is our business. Another is that we pay them to protect us! The type of training they are receiving has a big deal to do with that.

Liberals will never understand the military culture. Liberals will never understand the military's essential role in allowing the U.S.A. to be a mostly free country. Liberals will never understand that accomplishing the military's vital mission requires as little distraction as possible. However, as 0bama will soon be the Commander-in-Chief, he can change the rules as to gays in the military on his own orders.
I don't think 0bama will give that order for the same reason Clinton did not give it. The USA military is volunteer. If the military goes "gay" there won't be enough volunteers.

You know what happens to gays in Iran...
This could be a new secret PR weapon in case of hostilities with Iran.
Drop leaflets about spraying the battlefield with randiphalic acid vapour.
Send in the gay platoons and spread some rumours about what happens to captured Iranians.

A little sensitivity training might not be a bad idea. My husband, 100% HETEROSEXUAL, BTW, would probably be better off, if there was some kind of sensitivity training in the military. Hubby is a wonderful gentle guy who was totally screwed up by combat, and now suffers from PTSD because of it.

I have no problems with gays being in the army. Let me make that perfectly clear before I say any more!
What I don't agree with is the sensitivity training! These men are going to fight for their country. Why would we want them to be sensitive! Sensitive doesn't keep you alive!
Why fix something that isn't broke?

Ok Clinton's don't ask don't tell. Well, if you told you were out on your butt. Ok I'm not saying that gay is ok. But if that is what they want then fine. And what is wrong with pink anyway?Don't you think they would look ever so cute. Just kidding. My son's Uncle is a Marine and you know what he can't talk to anyone. unless they have on a uniform so maybe a class in how not to be a butt head mite help.Sensitivity training is what some of them do need. They are brain washed for the love of God. And you know that there are alot of gay men in the Military now. But the don't ask don't tell can hurt them if they get caught or tell. and they loose everything. That is not fair. I don't know. I just wish men would be with women and women with men it would make it so much easyer. YOur friend onlydia. Sorry it is late. playing catch up.
