I think I ate everything that it taste good, lol! But there are one time that my eldest sister and brother went to the bush to get some bamboo and take me with them because my Mom is working and no one will look after me in the house. While their cutting some bamboo, they put me on the big rock and ask me to just stay there. I think I was 3-4 years old that time, while their busy getting some bamboo, I saw a wild fruit and pick one and eat it, I reckon it taste good because I think I ate few of those, lol! The day goes by I was fine, until mid-night that I get bad stomach pain and I start vomiting, they don't know what to do and have to rush me in the hospital because I don't stop. Thankfully I only stayed in the hospital for 24 hours. I can still remember it apart from what kind of sickness I got from eating wild fruit, because that is the only time I have been admitted in the hospital and hopefully never again.

That is what innocence is about. We do not know what is good for us and what is not. Fruits are fruits and they do look so inviting. Good thing that you were attended to in time and were out of the effects in a short time. Thanks Cjay.

I don't really remember tasting chalks or mud but I do like the smell of it. Even today I just love to breathe in the beautiful aroma of the first rains on the dry earth, it feels heavenly! having said this, I did have friends who used to put chalks on their mouths. I, on the other hand, remember drawing graphities on my dress and on others with it instead of eating it. Sane of the lot. And also there were some who ate lead of the pencils, now that's weird but they did that! I think, children have severe addiction to such things. As long as its chalky, muddy materials and proper parentage is there, in most cases the affinity grows weaker but there are instances which grows into serious addiction even after entering adulthood. Children on the streets are incurably into dendrites and fevicols and its hard to counsel them! Another instance of indirect child extortion!

The smell of the wet mud after the first rains is great. Graphites...Only on the dresses i hope..Pencils is something a lot of kids used to chew on. I got out out of that habit afterr getting rapped on the knuckles a few times. The addiction part of children on the streetsis extremely sad Mimpi. Dendrites, fevicols, even petrol..

knuckles !! OMG!! Poor you!! I remember once when I was 3-4 year old. I spoiled my whitish tunic with the soot from the kettle in a picnic in the hills. We used to be scared of my mom like hell, we still are! And we hide my misdoing, I tucked in the flares of the tunic inside the capri. And the first thing mom noticed was that!! Quite obviously. And she ave me a good...

My Mother used to tell me a story about me as a baby chowing down on beach sand! I of course have absolutely no recollection of this whatsoever and no current affinity for eating beach sand today; so it was all of a passing fancy!

I think the sand eating was a passing fancy at the time as I have no desire to do so now..... And yes, Aussie sand would be very tasty indeed you'd think. Everything from there is great! lol.

I really cannot remember that far back, but I am sure there are times I ate mud and grass, as I was always making Mud pies. I think this is only a natural thing, and as far as I know getting dirty and seeing a child eat some mud never hurt them. Actually this helps show them a way to be creative if it is in such a things as mud pies, over letting them sit in front of the TV or video games.

Quite hilarious! I would chew perhaps pen caps, when thinking about something to write or will splash the ink on my shirt during studies.

Actually I can't remember ever doing anything like that. I may have put paper in my mouth a couple of times, and I have always liked to have and use toothpicks but I don't remember every putting anything strange in my mouth. I did however chew my pencils up. All of my pencils as a kid had little bite marks in them.

My Mother tells me that I used to eat Vick's vapor rub right out of the blue glass jar and I am still here to tell about it. I can remember the taste till this day. I would not think of putting the vapor rub in my mouth today or anywhere near it. I do not believe it was made with the ingredients that it is today. I also can remember putting dirt in my mouth.
