So DEPRESSED!!!

I have been where you are many years ago. I was a pro. musician with a young family and a lot of bills. It was the time of recession then too. I had taken on an extra job during the day (as well as my night-time job), so help pay the bills. I was in sales for a large confectionary company and they went bust. On top of this the club where I worked cut the number of nights to just 3 at weekends and I remember waking up in the early hours of the morning thinking, "we're not going to make it!" - It was like a night terror. I talked to a friend of mine who was really into astrology, and he didn't give me a reading or anything, but it was just something he said that made me pull myself out of my fear and despair. He said, "none of us on this earth are asked to deal with anything we can't handle". I first of all wanted to just dismiss what he said, but it seemed to stick in my mind. Things continued to be hard for several years, but my attitude changed from one of resistance to one of acceptance and resolution to my predicament. And I think my friend was right.. Something always turns up, and I endeavour to see that as one door closes another one opens. We always "make it". There is no alternative really. I have since become a therapist for the last 30 years and realise even more now how important it is to change our focus. Because when we change our focus, we change our moods. Best wishes Derek :-)

Not much say can I afford to put up new pragmatic solution, as having said, during this global economy slump I don't or didn't found one statement about the feasible plan of economy recovery. The all economists currently are pessimistic and everyone now running on hot economy track, either; personal, family, groups , business and investments. The only practical solution now is to enhance the level of comfort in living with all less.

Is there anyone who could help you? A church nearby? I know a lot of churches who help people out that are having trouble, financially or otherwise. I'm sorry I can't be there to help in person. But remember that you are very valuable, and no one on earth could take your place. And we all need you to be who you are. So don't end it, OK? : )

Some how I've been missing your discussions Valerie and so I have no idea just exactly how bad things are for you there or what has been going on but I must say that I was thinking about you just a couple of days ago and wondering if you were alright as I had not seen you post in quite a while until I saw this post in my E-Mail today...No idea how I've been missing your discussions but please know that I was worrying about you! So sorry to hear that you are in such a mess...whatever this is that has cropped up on you! I've been in a slump since the New Year also! Too much going on and things I thought were going to work out to my advantage have turned bad and so I have been in a real slump this past week in particular! I do know that God has everything under control...even if I don't know his plan in full...I do have great hopes for 2009!!! I will be praying for you and do hope that things will turn around for you soon! I wish I could help you financially but all of our money goes into our son's therapy...I am sure something will happen in the positive for you shortly! Love and Hugs ~Heavens~

I'm sorry yet another bad thing has happened. I think most of us here, on mylot, could use an infusion of money.

I understand where you're coming from.I am trying to get myself out of depression, too. Be thankful you have your health. I haven't felt good for a couple of months.My heart is in atrial fibrillation, I have 2 ulcers, my heart has blood clots in it, and my nose is continually stuffy. I can't walk around the house without getting out of breath. I have a broken molar that can't be fixed until I get off of blood thinners that I am taking for my heart. If that isn't enough, I tripped and fell in my office last week.Oh yea, I also have very painful arthritis that I can't take anything for because the medication they gave me caused kidney damage! I tell you this, just to give you some perspective. I'm sure you wouldn't want to trade disasters with me, but just remember there are a lot of people going through stuff right now. Let's all pray for eachother!

I am praying for you!! Don't even think that way. There alot of people in the same situation that you are financially. Have you tried doing a few things online to help just a little? Surveys, and things like that? They are not fast money makers, but can help.

Valerie37...nice to hear from you....but VERY sorry it's with bad news! Is there not some financial aide that you could call on? Is there not any "social assistance" to get you thru the rough spot right now? Somehow, my dear, you just have to put one foot in front of the other....and get thru this! Seems easy for me to say....but I have been there, done that! It will sap your energy and good spirits.....but please keep the faith!

I can appreciate the state of mind you are in. I often feel this way as well. I hope that you get whatever it is that you need to get out of this situation. I know that in these times of need it seems like you will never make it out. So I pray to God that you will get your miracle and will come out of this in a better frame of mind. Good luck.

While I suffer from depression too, it is hard this winter to not get depressed. Money, weather, kids, jobs etc. all seem to be becoming more difficult. I guess I would just have to say stick it out everything always goes up history proves it. If you think you may be seriously depressed you may want to see your doctor for some medication at least until things become more bearable.

Just keep your head up and keep the faith God will make a way.

Im sorry , but yes life does get a little bad at times,but i have never wanted to end my life,nothing can be that bad...Something will give ,if you look for answers something will come to mind....If you have a bed to sleep in,food to eat,and reasonably good health,all the rest means nothing....

That is sad but take it from me, thinking such unproductive thoughts won't help at all. It is because of experiences like that that I have come to appreciate the things that I have now and the blessings that I receive. Things may not be as bad as they seem, but if they are, just like mine was, I had to learn to pull myself out and my family and realize the strenghts and resources that I have not realized that I have. Also, all i had to do was look at other people who are experiencing worse than me. Being healthy for one is blessing enough.

I know that times are rough right now but they will get better. Even though it does not seem like it, there is a lot that you are learning with what you are going through. Just know that there is a reason for everything and you will pull through this. In the mean time, you will be in my thoughts!

Valerie, You will certainly be in my prayers. You know sometimes when things seem the darkest, that is just before the light. You ask for prayer so I assume you are a Christian, if that is the case remember these words of comfort from the bible. " I have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed go begging bread." God will come through for you. Sometimes it seems He has forgotten us, but He never does, and you may be amazed at how He does it. So keep the faith please, don't talk about ending it all, you know that is not God's way. He wants us to but have the faith of a grain of a mustard seed, that's very little that He asks of us, but He says we can move a mountain with that little bit, so Val, move your mountain. I hope that things can get better for you soon. Yesterday was a pretty mad day for me too but not because of the same issues that you've been going through. Still I felt similarly to the way that you felt in that I felt I was "almost to the point I want to end it all." Life throws things at you sometimes that you feel you cannot overcome. Sometimes the problems are so immediate that it's hard to gain perspective on it and it may seem insurmountable when in fact it may be a small hurdle. I'm trying to tell myself this as well. Look into options that may be available to you because there are sometimes options that are available that people aren't aware of that can help them. I hope that things get better for you.
