In many ways Hamas seens to have gained the upper hand in the current conflict, largely due to the fact that the israeli government backed themselves into a corner whereby anything less than the absoulte destruction of Hamas would be a failure.
Hamas continued to fire rockets into Israel after they declared a ceasefire making sure everyone knew that they weren´t going to follow the Israeli ceasefire, after a while they too declared a ceasefire´, at a time of their choosing. One of Israels primary goals was to stop all rocket fire from Gaza, they have most certainly failed in that aim.
In many ways we are back to square one, Hamas is still capable of firing rockets into southern Israel.

The Palistinians have every reason to attack Israel at will. Every time they start something, Israel fights back and the useless UN and other farces of "diplomacy" call for Israel to declare a ceasefire. The results have almost always ended in the Palistinian's favor.
Hamas is nothing but scummy, pissant terrorists. It is a pox on the world that anyone gives in to their coersion.
