Actually, i lost my own phone and it's hard to live without my phone. I miss important calls from job applications.
The previous phone i have was nokia 3230. A bit out model nowadays, but it gave me a bright camera shot and fast processor in reading and receiving messages.

My Lg now is my 3rd cellphone, my cellphone type is LG KU380, my phone has suppot 3G,a slide type cellphone, the most i like from my phone is i can connet to internet with my laptop.

Weather a phone plays a major role in a person's life is really a personal thing... For one person, it may not really mean much & for another, it may mean major source of income... I have blackberry pearl 8120... I do have 2 jobs & one of them I depend on my cell phone rather heavily...
