I have read the Twilight series. I loved it. I am looking for others who have read the books and your opinion on them. I unfortunatly didn't see the movie, so others who have read the book and seen the first movie I would like to hear how closly or not the movie followed the book. Thanks!

I found that the film did follow the book fairly closely, with parts missing only to make everything fit. so while there were certain more minor moments that I really did miss for them not being there, I didn't find that it took away from the quality of the story. it's probably easier if you have read the book, and know what's going on, as the book has a LOT of dialogue, and the balance is tipped a little more towards action in the film, so a lot of things aren't explained in as much detail as you'd like. also, the sparkling wasn't very well done. if you didn't know it was what was happening, you'd just think it looked a bit weird. all the same, I really really enjoyed the film. and I'm glad, as I deliberately kept my expectations as low as I could, so as not to be too disappointed. I loved the film. I loved the books more.

the books were absolutely amazing! never before have i ever fallen in love with a fictional character (let alone a vampire) as much as i did with edward. my longing for the love that edward and bella share throughout these books is beyond imaginable. the movie follows the book pretty closely but it leaves a lot of parts out. the movie was made on a short budget so im sure now that it has reached the public and been a huge success, the second movie will be so much better. but nonetheless, i loved the movie and will be watching it over and over again once it is released on dvd.

my first crush was on Louis, from Interview with the vampire. so I was pretty much doomed when Edward Cullen came along.

at that time it was a book. then later became a film too. I particularly recommend the book, but the film was quite enjoyable too.

Like what the others have said here, the movie skipped out a lot of parts and left some details out. The first and last book are great but of course the ones in the middle play a vital role in the whole saga. I just love the first book and adore the last book.

i love the book better than the movie...it has a lot of fast forwards..since its just an adaptation...the movie is cool...especially the baseball scene...one of my disappointments is the farewell scene...when the Cullens try to keep Bella safe from James. in the movie, edward didnt kiss and hug bella goodbye..they just spoke while bella was in the car...that scene in the book was intense and it made me cry...

I love the Twilight series, and have read all four books. Breaking Dawn was my favorite. I found that the movie, though not as good as the book, followed closely enough to enjoy. Naturally in a book to film conversion, things will be cut and changed. It's an entirely different medium, and making it exactly like the book is impossible. It's still a good movie though, and I would recommend it.

I just watch the film three days ago.The film is perfect i think. So i want to prepare to read the books. However i don't find the translation of that so i can only read the original one slowly. From i have read,i find a lot differences from the film. The book is more detail of the bella's mind activities.

I just picked up a copy of Twilight from my local library on a whim the other day and haven't been able to put it down. I don't think I'll become an avid Stephenie Meyer fan since vampires aren't really my thing, but it is a very fun read. Only 48 pages left!

I am hearing so much about this series. I haven't read them. I think I will read them soon just for discussion purposes. I think I read somewhere else here on myLot that the movie follows the book closely. Glad to hear that you enjoyed reading this series.

well first I would like to say that I absolutly loved the books. I almost wish it was real and I was Bella. Now as for the movie is skips out on a lot of the parts making the movie hard to understand. I had to keep explaining to people what was going on.
