My daughter is watching the America's Next Top Model marathon, which I gather has been on television all day long. That makes sense I suppose since it is a marathon Not sure why there is a marathon of that awful show, but there is and my daughter loves the show. Maybe it's me, but it seems like these television show marathons used to be something special and only occurred once in a blue moon. Now days it seems like there is always some sort of marathon showing episode after episode of some television show. To mee, that makes them less than special. So, is it just me or has television suddenly become so damned cheap that they don't even need to find programming for an entire day they can just put on a marathon of some show?

I love marathons. I am currently and have been all day watching the HGTV marathon of House Hunters International. I love that show. I know that I might never be able to actually buy a house so I love watching what others buy and see what I would have chosen instead of them. Sometimes I cannot understand why they pick the house that they do pick.

Yeah, I notice a lot of marathons these days. The network Spike is extremely guilty of doing this. It's like the channel is nothing but marathon after marathon now. Especially with CSI. I know just off the top of my head they have done two week long marathons in the past month or so for the show.

I think that show promotes unhealthy body obsessions. It's one of those things, like Barbie, that makes me think women don't value themselves as intelligent individuals. Maybe that's just my upbringing, my mom was a mover and a shaker.
Also, it's really sad to see what some people will do to get on TV! It's like looking at a car crash. I can't help but rubber-neck, but I'm disgusted by what I see.

Hi fwidman..to me it is as if they don't know or have run out of ideas of what to put on TV nowadays, there is America's Next Top Model, Australia's, Englands and I don't know how many others that are on plus repeats from old series of shows eg Friends, what next when I was young there was always something interesting on TV or something to look forward to but now there is nothing and it makes you wonder why do we pay for our television licenses...littleowl

That is an awful show, stick a bunch of pretentious little brats in a room and see who eats the other first. What a sad excuse for television. I can't stand tv, read a book and expand your mind instead of watching tv and shrinking it.

Hi fwidman,
oh, I cannot stand that stupid show where these so call models to be are so brainless and plastic, and I agree with you all those marathon shows they put on in our country is as old as the hills, if they just show it now and again, its good but then everything gets boring. The tv programmes are so cheap but not our tv license, its to darn expensive.

in my country they rarely show any type of marathon . They are seen only in news channel. i remember the only i saw was olympics one. However there are many local marathons going on. SOmetimes nokia is sponsering it. I always liked watching marathon and also took part in 1 marathon was ranked 57 out of 150 . to poor. i wish that our channels could show these marathons frequently.
