Hi friends,,
Every one believes in this concept right? I hope!
Why is that only APRIL month is selected for this purpose? why , what is the reason behind that? do you people know that? PLEASE SHARE WITH ME ...
Once in my college on APRIL 1st,, I was fooled by my class mates. We had practical sessions, so we went to lab, when we returned for break, I was hungry, so I opened my lunck box and found a bit of paper quoted "Thank you" instead of my roti's and aalooo masala, oh my God, I was very tensed, and clue less about who took my lunch. Later on I found my class boys had played that game.
So please drop in your experiences on that day... if any of you was fooled on APRIL fool's day

I have heard something similar to what v4vikas shared, but I heard it a little different.
Back before the change to the Gregorian calendar, the New Year was celebrated around the beginning of April. At that time, people would give gifts. With the change in calendars, some people would forget about the change in New Year's. Often, as a joke, people would present a "gift", which was really a fish wrapped up. Back then they would say say "April's Fish", making fun of the person who thought it was a real gift. It eventually just became a joke in general, and became "April Fool's."

Hi twinklee! I have searched the net about the origin of April fool but most turned out to be uncertain and a few have also been made up turning it to be another prank in history of April Fool. However, I never was fooled on this day exactly because I am always on guard in being fooled and being played at. Nevertheless, my friends and family remembered my being so cautious on this day that they play pranks on me on other days, usually a day before or the first week of April. haha..
take care and have a nice day!

Well, you have already got the correct response.. Initially people used to celebrate it as new year. but later new year was shifted to Jan 1st. and people who used to follow the older one were called -"April fools".
My brother fooled me once saying that there was a cockroach on the wall and once when he told me that my grandma came home, etc.. but I was never a victim of practical jokes.. Thank God!!
