Now a days we r regularly connected with the world. We remain informed about whats happening around us and with friends. Anyone can reach us anytime, whether it's day or night. thanx to cell phone and internet. But I feel that it has taken our that time when we can think sitting alone. Which is also necessary for all of us.

One of the reasons I love the Internet is that I can turn it on and off at will, and it can't really intrude on my life. I rarely even turn on my cell phone, and I often try to ignore the landline phone. They seem to find the most intrusive times possible to blast their way into my life. I see people drop everything to answer a phone, and whatever they were doing shouldn't have been interrupted. Technology has brought us wonderful things, but it's also disordered our lives tremendously.

Science has made a person to act like a machine. Though it brought many advantages to the man kind, they are temporary, and all such advantages are curse in the the long run. As pointed out, internet and cellphones hve become more curse in the day to day activities, as world has come to the situation that neither they can live without them nor they can live with them peacefully. On account of these two things, many persons are unable to enjoy a full day with family members, which in trun ultimately affecting the family relations. Further, it is affecting the time spent on actual work at office. Hence, there should be some mechanism/control on access to these facilities.

The modern devices are a two-edged sword. On the one hand, we need them to connect ourself to the outside world. On the other hand, we are much bothered by it sometimes that we don't want it anymore. Years ago, when the internet and cell phones were booming and began to take root in people's life. I heard some voices questioning if the information that we got every day from different media is too much for us to absorb. I do think the answer is yes. There are too much information around us that I don't think one can absorb them all easily. We need time to think and sift them through. And we also need some personal hours for ourself.

Oh, that's different from me, the use of a mobile phone does not at all my time. It even helps me arrange my daily schedule. In the phone you have the calendar, alarm, and many more. With it, I feel I am helped. I know when to pray. I know that I have arranged a meeting with a special friend. Don't you notice that? Ok Cheers.

I agree. I remember one night my two housemates and I were in a room but we're not speaking. when I noticed this, I blurted out. "Hey, don't you feel stupid? We're all in here but we're all talking to 3 (or more) different people NOT in this room!" and they both laughed. we were all holding our cellphones and chatting with people miles away from us, which was really funny.

I think both have the advantages and disadvantages here which I think we all have benefited more than anything else. It has made it possible for us to be connected to the outside world in a matter of seconds and indeed it has made life more easier and faster. I don't discount the fact that cellphone sometimes disturb our peaceful life when others keep calling you even for small matters. I normally switch off my cellphone if I do not feel like talking to anyone over the phone.

Hi. You are right. I lost my cellphone, stolen actually a week ago and I didn't buy a new one immediately. During the several days without a mobile phone, felt totally free. When I am out in the street or anywhere, I am not afraid that somebody will find me for some issues. I was just so free, like a bird just released from its cage. I need not to watch out if there will be someone planning to steal my phone, aha. On the other hand, even we have so many ways of contacting ppl, we can't get through when it comes to the time we really need to contact somebody. No ways works and we have to apply the primate way. GO and find them.

It's really up to the person whether he/she's going to let these gadgets disturb his/her own life..

Anything has its own limits... may be food, entertainment, sorrow, happiness etc... Likewise, usage of internet and cellphones also has its own limitations... using more than the limits will cause damages both physically and mentally ...

nope. it gives more fun and income for me. I can't imagine myself without internet. It becomes a necessity for me instead of a plain leisure. Internet has been a part of my life for almost a decade now and I spend so much time on it. Losing the internet is like losing a job for me so I can't really afford not to have it..

Excess of everything is bad. There is no second thought that cellphones and internet have made our lives easier and these have made communication faster.World has come closer and we can have easy access to anyone living thousand of kilometers away. But these have intruded into our lives in such a fashion that without these technologies we will feel crippled.

Yes. We practically sit all day in front of the computer and most of the time we forget that we have to taqlk to our families as well. Most of the people now who has computer at home forget about their social life.

Well personally I think it is all up to each individual themselves. Most people I know of have made some time for themselves as well as be on the Computer, using their Cellphone, working, etc. The main issue comes when people who like to Text or Chat, that is all you will see them doing even when they are away from home in a group of people as well. So overall like anything is, I just feel it is a matter of balance.

I think it is a personal decision on if someone turns them off and does what they want. I don't own a cell phone and neither does my husband. At times I wish we had one and we might decide to get one however it will be used for emergencies only and travel in the vehicle so the one that is driving has it. I think so many become slaves to new technology, as they think they cant live without it, the way I see it they allow it to control them instead of them controlling it.

one way its really true as we really miss all those happy memories when we try to recollect about our loved ones..but most of people from my schooldays still stay in touch with me though phones and internet and i think if it was not for the the technology then i would miss most of them and i don't know if i would ever be able to contact them..so although some times we feel that we are wasting lot of time on internet or on phone we do have to accept that with these kind of technologies we are able bond more than ever..
