Yes, we here in Minnesota finally had our standard January thaw this weekend. Temperatures poushed near 30 above zero. YES, above zero finally. We had almost 4 days below zero temps before it got to +1. This is a shot of icicles formed from the snow melting off the roof of my house. I have no more ice crystals on my doors due to the thaw. Anyhow it was a nice, yet sloppy, weekend with the warm air and a snowfall on Sunday morning. With all the snow melting etc, the car got very sloppy both inside and outside due to this mess. Just another pitfall of Minnesotan weather. A lovely weekend all told. Now to get this slop cleaned from my car at the car wash soon. Ugghhh! How was your weather this weekend? Did you get my artic air I had sent out East?

You know it. You aimed right for my house and hit it right on the money! LOL We are not quite to the thawing today but should start thawing a little tomorrow. We're in the teens today with a prediction of 30 tomorrow! Woo Hoo break out the swim suits!
We have about 3 inches of snow on the ground. Hopefully we don't get the flooding now!
Love the picture. I think icicles are beautiful!

It's 16 here now! Some of the ice is melting, it's quite beautiful, and I was treated to seeing a crust on the snow last night that sparkled like it was covered in gems!
We are supposed to warm up to 30 around Thursday. We were going to have 40 but something happened and we'll have to wait for that.

Glad to hear you in Minnesotta have finally started to warm up and thaw out. I was beginning to worry about you, and when you would be able to go outside again and do things you enjoy. I know we had our share of weird weather here in the Seattle area. Right now it is very foggy, and staying this way for the next day or so, but warmer.

You can send us some wet stuff and it don't have to be in the form of snow it can be rain. We are under red flag warnings so much now due to the low humidity, winds and no rain.
That is unreal to imagine that the things are melting in 30 degree temps., that is really cold down here.

Hey Grandpa Bob! Yup! We did get the artic air! And it was
very unpleasant! But not we have had a chance to also hit
the 30 degree mark and it is a heat wave! But we also got
hit with more snow! You get rid of one thing and get another!
You just can't win in the winter! This has definitely been
a brutal winter as far as the frigid air! So this week we
will be staying in the 20's! I never thought I would be happy
to see those numbers! Anthing is better than what we've been
having! I am actually going to venture outside tomorrow to
get some errands done in the early morning although we did
get a few more inches of that white stuff so walking won't be
so great! Oh well!

We are staying in the 20's as well for a week so far.
But then next weekend another cool down.
Not as bad as the last one tyhough.
Stay warm.

We live south of you, and we had weather around the fifties. I hope we continue to have this pleasant weather for a few days. Seeing the sun makes me feel more lively.

Hi Grandpa Bob! No snow, no icicles and no crystals for us to experience here but we do have sand castles. haha..For the past days, it is kinda warm and no wind chills for us tropical people. The sun did shine a little too bright and kinda hot for my laundry to easily dry. lol..Love the sun but I do miss the wind chills!
Take care and have a nice day!

Hi grandpa, haha. We had very nice weekends and the weather is really warm, 10 degree centigrades above 0 and the sun is shining and I put on my beautiful sweater. No thick coats or hats or scarf or gloves. Really great. But today the weather is chilly again and the sun just playing the hide game with us,somewhere else maybe. Well I hate winters. But I guess we still have two months time until it's gone totally.
Hope you have a nice weather again this weekend, heehee.

Oh we have you to thank for that wonderful weather! I don't care for the frigid temperatures. Next week we are supposed to have warmer weather. Now that doesn't mean that we can break out the shorts and t-shirts, but at least I can put that heavy coat away for now and wear a lighter one. My car is looking like a salt block. With all the salt that has been used in the past week it seems to have targeted my car! Hopefully won't rot away!

Hi Grandpa Bob! Weather here at our country returned to normal as well.Early parts of January was very cold but now it's staring to warm up again. I have never seen snow or experienced having winter. I bet it's quite a mess when everythings thawed out.
