I think that moving an elderly person/loved one into a nursing home should be the last resort. I have seen so many people over the years that were doing ok, and then as soon as the get moved into the facility, that is all she wrote. They just don't make it much longer after that.
My sister has agreed that she will take care of my mom and won't let this happen to her. I just hope she is able to take care of her when the time comes. She is the only one that lives near my mom and really the only one of us kids with the patience to take care of someone.

Thanks I agree. Nursing homes are just so unpleasant. Sometimes when their minds get so bad for one reason or another it is the only choice but always hard and unpleasant. Also simply because they are in a facility you can never trust that they are cared for you have take a daily active interest. The hard part about having some one in your home is that you are so tied to the person and place. This makes life as we know it hard and as the years go by patience can wear thin even in a saint. I give your sister my blessings.. and thanks for the response
