We finally got a little bit of snow down here in the southeast. It wasn't much but at least we got a little white stuff to go along with this cold weather. My daughter and I just got back in from building a miniature snowman. He's the most pitiful looking snowman ever with lots of leaves and acorns mixed in with the snow. But we're proud of our first snowman. My daughter had so much fun playing in the snow. Last year when we got a light dusting she really wanted nothing to do with it. This year she was eager to get out there and build a snowman. It's amazing to see her interests change within a year.
Anyone else go play in the snow today? I know the folks up north are probably sick of the stuff. I know now that we have had our snow for the year I'm ready for Springtime to hurry up and get here.

here in belgium, i also was a good year with much snow, normally there isnt that much snow at all. i snowed during a whole week (after new year) and it was fantastic. it was so could that, and there was so much snow, that me and my friends could do a major big snowball fight, and i hitted many guys in the face. it was absolutely fantastic. i also went to Switserland, and there, there was like 2 meters of snow. me and brother made a awesome jump (for snowboarding)
peace out (greets from belgium

Hey there cynddvs,
I live in Delhi, India, and the weather here is cool right now, but ain't cool enough for snow, and since last 5 years, this is my first year when we, didn't go to a hill station at this time of year. Actually I love snow and almost every year me and my family go for a vacation in the snow, that is every winter, just to enjoy the magic of snowfall. I enjoy playing in the snow a lot, and get numb after that. Anyways, am happy that you got your first snow and I hope you enjoying it.
Take Care
God Bless You

Hi cyndvvs! That must be exciting to do--making a snowman! I am glad that your daughter Sena had so much fun playing in the snow. Out here in my land, there are no snowman to build, only sand castles! haha...
Take care and have a beautiful day!

Having moved to Texas from Michigan, I am still glad that we don't get snow. My mom talks about all the snow they have up there and it makes me laugh. Today is supposed to be 63 and tomorrow is supposed to be 76...what could be better then that. Last year (our first winter here) we did get a few inches on Thanksgiving (much to the kids disappointment it was about 80 on Christmas day!). The snow was a bit funny. Everyone was all panicked and no one drove well...on the other hand it all melted off by night time! Anyway...glad you had fun...maybe in a few years I will be ready for a snow!

We too got a little snow here in Ireland but here in the Midlands, we didn't get enough to build a snowman. It snowed on Saturday night and we had a light snow shower last night and we are expected to have more snow tomorrow. Some of the Northern Counties had quite heavy falls of snow and I felt quite sorry for the people who had to drive to work in the blizzards which are raging across the country at the moment. Yes, it will be nice to see the arrival of Spring and to see all the flowers and trees regain their beautiful leaves. I can't wait to start growing some plants and a few indoor tomatoes and herbs.

You sound like my Mom today. She was so excited to have snow on the ground that she had to call me. It wasn't their first snowfall in Eastern Kentucky this year, but they haven't got much.
I myself have moved to the South for the first time this winter and hopefully I will not see any all year. Up North where I lived until October, it was negative 19 degrees this past week. I guess I got out of there just in time. LOL

I haven't played in the snow in YEARS ;) If you would like more of it, you can have some of Michigan's :) I do think it looks pretty though, and actually don't mind driving in it. I rather drive in snow than ice!

they said on the news today that to date for our winter we have received 42.1 inches of snow... we are 20 inches above normal... ugh!!! and yet we have a few more months to go with our snowfall...
my son did go play in the snow and he loves it as he is 5... but I am starting a countdown to the first day of summer!!! LOL

I also live in the southwest, in the eastern portion of the Great Basin, and we're well above normal for snowfall, so far. Christmas Day we got over 2-feet of snow and had a few storms before Christmas that totaled six to 12 inches. Our normal snow season doesn't start until about this time of year. Normally, October through December we just get cold with a few flurries thrown in for good measure. According to the forecast, we have more on the way.
