MLK day and our election!!! why do they have to go together?

Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day as is recognized by the Americans each year. I have found many sites, and Oprah herself saying how it is so important that these two days are falling together. I find these statements to kind of play the race card. Didn't we as a country elect Obama to change our county and unite it. He is black as well as white and lets leave it at that and pay attention to what he has planned for our country. If everyone thought it would further seperate our country then some may have voted differently. I am excited for what Obama can do but I hope it dosen't turn into a race thing becuase I think we elected him as a person not a color!
