achievement of the day

While I'm very, very proud of two things I did this weekend, (includes Sunday and Monday since I had to work Saturday), most of it was very personal for someone else, so I shouldn't divulge it. I do think that, at last, she'll be OK. The other is a milestone for me. It's the first time I've confronted my feelings about my daughter, who was killed by a serial killer many years ago. I've kept her sealed in my heart, but someone's discussion brought her out of me. Writing about her lifted a bit of a huge stone off my heart, so it healed me a little bit, for the first time. It won't ever be OK, because she'll never be back, but I let her memory out a little, and it's something of a relief.

I think doing what I can to stay true to my values, and keep my family and friends happy and do what I can to keep my family safe and healthy. That's a daily thing that just needs to be done. Doing that, to me, feels like a great daily accomplishment.
