Where Did You Get Your Avatar Picture?

Nice picture there, singlemommy. I think that people who use their own pictures are brave in many ways. I'm too shy to have my face up there for the world to see like this, especially since just anyone can come through. My avatar picture...I got it off Wikipedia. It's of the Pleiades constellation, the Seven Sisters. Why did I pick it? Because it's beautiful and the seven sisters have a story behind it. *Pleiades

I've been using my avatar picture even long before I had my own computer..LOL. I learned computers about five years ago and would use the library computers. Whenever it was asked for an avatar I wanted something that reflected my personality and my user name, which is usually pyewacket just about everywhere with maybe some spelling differences. I actually do have a black cat named Pyewacket and the moment I saw this picture just knew it fit. It's from the cover of a book called "Your Magical Cat" ...I scanned the cover and cropped the title off. I've now change it to be more seasonal at times...like at Christmas I had added a small Christmas tree and candy canes, then did a New Year's theme one..and now I have my avatar with a St. Valentine's them As for your own avatar if you don't want to use your photo one..just hunt around images..do you like cats? Then maybe you might find the perfect cat photo to use as your avatar...or maybe there's a symbol you like..whatever..LOL

I made mine from an origami book. It's kind of mysterious, just like me. And not everyone can make an origami grasshopper, so I'm proud of what I made.

Both of the ones I have used (Well, three actually) are art pieces I did myself. But, there are lots of places on line where you can pick up avatars, or cool pictures to use as avis.

I just finally changed mine yesterday but I put a picture of my daughter on mine. I don't remember the last picture that I actually let someone take of me but I am sure that it didn't turn out well!! I am awful at taking pictures and always have been. Maybe one day I will post a picture of me but I doubt that will be anytime soon unless I become photogenic over night!! I don't see anything wrong with you picture I think it is a good one.

My Rose is a picture my daughter took. She is a photographer. I don't think I photograph very well. I also have made it a practice to not post any pictures of me. There are only a few people online who have either seen me on my webcam or in person. They know what I look like. Everyone else will have to guess. I have a few other avatars that I use. Some of them were designed by Netrock. She passed away last Spring. I will forever remember her as a friend and as a wonderful graphic designer.

My avatar photo is from one of my son's photos. He is an angel for me, so I like to use his photo here. I love China

I surf profiles here, in yahoo, sparkpeople and AOL and I swipe avatars or pics that I like. I have quite a few, but pretty much stick to the same one here. Its reaching the point where I don't remember who I swiped them from. LOL Wouldn't want to post one here that came from someone else here.

I get my avatar from my computers documents and pictures of my grandchildren.I always want to see them when I'm in front of my computer.Who said your not good looking?Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.I belive in that quotation because my husband says I'm beautiful although I admit I'm not sot so too.

I have always used a picture of myself or my children, I think it is more personable. I really do not see anything wrong with the picture you have. I do now that on yahoo you can get an avatar but I am not quite sure how to post it anywhere else but on yahoo. But I am pretty sure one could figure it out. If you dislike your picture of yourself than you could always go out and take a pretty picture of flowers or trees or something like that. I am not to sure what you are into but if you like animals or have animals than take a picture of a pet and use it. Anything is fine really. It is all what you like. I hope you can figure out what you are trying to.

Hi singlemommy, I love watching all kinds of flowers. I like to take images of the lovely flowers which I’m really interested and appreciated, whenever I come across any in my daily life or during my vacations. I have lots of pictures of various varieties of flowers saved in my computers and I like to watch them during my leisure time. Both my former and current avatars are pictures of flower which I pick from my pc photo gallery. The previous one was a big sized flower with conspicuous petals in red color. The picture in the avatar I use currently is a tiny water lily. It’s rare species flower in my place. I love its unique and attractive and brightly purple and pink color seen in its petals. I took this picture at the doorway of a nearby temple last year. Happy posting

Your picture/avatar is nice. My avatar is a pic of me that I have taken myself. I'm not good at taking pictures either, but I think it came out great.

My avatar is my pup Roxy! She used to be able to sleep on the couches before we bought our new ones. She would always sleep with her head propped up on the arm like in the picture. It looks so uncomfortable but she sleeps like that all the time. Now she does it on the floor with her head propped up against the coffee table leg. Weird, I know!

Mine is my littel dog. I think that he is alot cuter than I am, although I look OK myself. I just love my little guy though and he never fails to take a good picture unlike his mama. She often does not take a good picture.

My avatar is me also. I think it is good to see who you are talking to on here and what they look like. I had a friend on here who I thought was a man for ages. I got a surprize one night and a few others did, when we found out she was a boy. You can make your own avatars or type in free ones online. I use imagic magik to make mine sometimes, as it is free and you do not have to download it.
