Hi lady_shan_17, i am using XP. I like it. It is easy to use and came preloaded. I like Vista too. I love the many features. The Vista operating system takes up far more room on your hard drive than any other operating system by Microsoft to date. It has a lot of useless stuff that comes with it but the useful additions far out weigh that of which I wold never use. I am not looking to upgrade to Vista, however. If I had to choose, I would take XP, hands down. It is a lot more simple and in comparison, bare bones. Thank you for your post.

I love simplicity too. With SP3, XP is much better. Thank you for your comment.

xp with service pack 3 is really awesome. it uses less memory much stable and has a very simple interface . the only con is that it does not support direct x 10. mother wise i see no reason for upgrading to vista. rather i would try windows 7

I also using XP home edition and not want to change for next few months as i experience lot of changes from win 2000/linux dual boot to win XP with SP4 that gives me lot of trouble and now with SP2 and all the hardware running. however, Vista is also smooth but takes lot of resources from the system to run. it is wht i heard so i prefer XP and suggest XP over Vista coz of running perfectly allrite.

I am using Windows Vista.... its cool windows platform microsoft highly integrated Graphics in this Vista release. one of the drawback for Vista is its required minimum 1 GB ram... even though you have 1 Gb ram the PC work Slow. If you are not much more userfriendly with Xp then you face a lot of problem while using PC many option are change in Windows Vista.

That is the second reason why I'm still not installing vista...So many graphics on OS...While Xp is simple and don't need to upgrade much software...

I prefer using Windows Xp SP2 because it is more stable.. If your system is fast, and you love incredible graphics,, vista is great.. But I'll still stick to XP^_^

Vista is one of the crappiest OS I have ever come across, I would still recommend others to go with XP because it is one of the stablest version of windows. Vista has nothing but graphics added to it to enhance its looks nothing else. For that you can use linux OS like fedora core, ubuntu etc which are far more lighter & more visually pleasing than Vista. I would say you can go for XP or any linux OS like ubuntu, fedora core etc.

XP is ( Now ) far more stable with no issues with any drivers. You should always remember that do not use any microsoft os unless it is stable for at least 2 years

i got vista on a laptop i recently purchased. i can however tell you that vista on laptops is not such a good thing (very slow). i have ordered a windows xp pro cd from the manufacturer as i want to downgrade the system (you can always downgrade with the same license). i'd say it's better to wait and see for windows 7 rather than switching to vista... vista is very resource consuming, apparently even more than windows 7. hope this helps

I think that XP is better cause almost any old and game (for example Wolfenstein Enemy Territory) doesn't work properly. And vista uses also two times more memory than XP.

Vista is boring.Just another tool for Microsoft to make money which really failed to do so.

I use Vista, and I like it more than XP...but it's taking a lot of RAM and some games aren't playing very well on Vista....that's too bad.
