Bollywood stars like Sharukh are no match for Mamooty and mohanlal. It is just the language barrier that is affecting their popularity. Stars like sharukh etc cannot even know how to act properly. Most of the bollywood films of them are simply a waste of time . There is nothing new in it rather than some dance and fight sequences . Thus due to this foriegners think that all the indian films are similar to them in subject.
Most of the people outside dont even know that there are many other language films produced in India rather than hindi. Always hindi films are given more importance when indian films are being Announced. Thus malayalm and tamil films are not included in tthe list for awards. Thus due to this language barrier great actors like Mammooty and mohanlal are not getting their du e recognition. The number of national awards they have got itself shows their prowess in acting. Also south indian films should be released in north indian states . only then they will know many great actors down south who are not getting their due recognition.l

I agree that there are many good actors in Malayam who have got national awards for best actor for more times than Sharuk or Salman. But when people select their best actor regionalism will always come into the fore. A northerner will always adore a northern star only. But this kind of narrow mindset can be changed only if the people are more open. The malayalam film industry is supported by a small population of viewers when compared to the Hindi , Tamil or Telugu films. But the malayalam stars have also got audience applause when they acted in other languages. This points to another scenario. That people enjoy the films in their mother tongue , no matter what actor acts in it. There are only a small population of malayalees. Let us strive to find the goodness in other films.
