I live in Australia and I feel quite lucky at the moment that our country is not too effected by the current economic crisis. However I am starting to worry as their is alot of talk on the news about this will be a tough year for Australians.
I can not begin to comprehend how other families are coping around the world, in this troubled time. What are your thoughts on this economic crisis in your country?

kiran1978.....I know I will sound like the bearer "of doom & gloom". but Australia is a brother/sister in this big Global family, and try as you might, when the rest of the Global economy is in recession you will experience residual effects, no matter what your government tells you! No man is an Island, no country is NOT interdependent! You do rely on the rest of the world for goods & supplies. If we are in crisis, there is a trickle down effect.
Your best hedge against an economic crisis is to start practicing frugality, now! It will be a valuable life lesson. Most of us have taken a long, hard look at our life-styles, and are adapting, and realizing we have veen quite a wasteful society!Have a great day!

I did not say that I don't think Australia won't be effected. It just hasn't hit us as badly yet. But I also said that we are in for a tough year. I do understand that what happens all around the world does have a major impact on us too.
Have a great day!
