President of United States of America Barack Obama is one of the world's most popular persons. He has became a hero for many americans and other people from whole world. After a damage what G.W. Bush has made it's really hard to go back on the road, safe finances and peoples trust.
Do you think B. Obama has a power to make people believe in government again?

I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, because he IS (or will be shortly) our President. But if we're going to talk about this, let's face the facts. Bush didn't create the mess we're in, Clinton did. If you don't understand that, maybe you should study recent history before repeating political propaganda that has not basis in truth.
Whether it's going to be hard or not depends on how much more the market and our freedoms are manipulated.

Where in the world did all these people get the idea the Obama was a super hero or as president would have super powers. Congress has more power than the president. We should be asking ourselves if congress is up to the task...not if the president is..all he gets to do to sign or veto bills after congress gets done with them. I mean come on people can we try to at least be a little realistic here.

Exactly - and the fact that he is "the first African-American President" does not change that.

I think he is human being and people are making him out to be a super hero. A lot of people have unrealistic exspectations of what he can do as president. They are in so one heck of reality shock soon.

While, once he takes the oath of office, he will fulfill the second definition of the word, it is yet to be seen if he will fulfill the other two.

I don't put my faith in government, I put it in my republic, the constitution and the people. The government are just a bunch of people who I hired to work for me. Obama is no hereo, we don't exault our presidents in that fashion. They hype over all this is just that, HYPE, and honetly, if I see one more thread about it, I'm going to puke my coffee all over the computer screen.

Again, we totally agree! Obama is no hero - he is no God - he has yet to prove that he can do anything to bring our country out of it's current economic state.

All I can say is that you should expect nothing. If you worry so much about whether or not he will be some savior, ten you probably will be surprised when you learn he is human like the rest of us. Don't let your mind travel the road where you think this will get easier for us, even he said it won't be easy. And surely, don't rely on him to change your life. That slogan, to me, is one that is more a challenge. Don't worry about him making you better, worry about making your own life better.

I especially don't think that citizens of other countries should be anticipating what Obama is going to do for THEM. He was "hired" as President of the United States and the American people should be his first priority.

Obama was elected by the American people to serve the United States. It is his JOB to put the needs of American citizens FIRST, regardless of any connections he may have to other countries because of his heritage.
