what do you do to pass the time when your too sick to have an intelligent thought in your head? do you watch tv? play on mindless sites online? read a book? sleep?

When I am sick I do nothing else but watch TV. Yup just watch tv, specially the calm programs without too much violence or no violence at all. When your sick, not only your body but even your brain needs rest so you have to give your brain a rest too and watch calm movies or calm programs or listen to calm musics which is very relaxing. I normally watch the kid shows like teletubbies hehe they are calm and you can be sure no violence is involved in it.

When I am so sick that I have to relax, I usually eat, chicken noodle soup with fresh garlic chopped up and placed in the bottom of the bowl before I add the hot soup.
I drink plenty of water and orange juice.
I take hot baths, dress warm and turn the heat up.
I lay in bed to try and sleep as much as I can.
I will watch t.v. Usually a D.V.D or two, that I picked up when I realized I was getting sick and may be at home for a couple of days.
I will talk on the phone if any one is around that has time to talk.
I will sort out piles of paper if needed.
At night before bed, i will mix up a Neo-Citrin.
I will be ready for bed, usually after a hot bath and take the hot drink with me. I will get into bed and drink the Neo-Citrin as fast as I can before pulling the blankets up to my chin and I will go to sleep.
Usually waking several times because I am too hot but is what I need to get better so I don't remove the blankets. I let myself perspire, so to sweat the cold out.
I also will up my intake of vitamins, taking extra garlic capsules, along with Vitamins C, B and calcium, magnesium and zinc.
It does get boring. If I stay in bed too long, my body begins to hurt.
It is not unusual for me to take 2 or more baths during the day when I am not feeling well.
The heat feels good.
If I get really restless, I may try and paint as I have a couple paintings that need finishing.
I hope that you're feeling better soon.

I bet it is! Would me.
Being sick for more than a day or two is a real drag.
I hope that you are all better soon.
Take care of you.
Stay warm and drink plenty of fluids.
Thank you for your comment.

Hello there moonlitmagikchild!
It can really get boring when all you have to do is to sleep the day away because you are sick. I hate it when that happens. Oftentimes, what I do is to watch TV, browse the net, read a book or a magazine. I would also sleep but not the whole day.

when i was little my folks forbid me to watch tv when i'm sick because they say watching moving images would give me a headache. i think it's true though. forcing myself to sleep would pass time. that's the best cure anyway, to have as much rest as you can. anyway, i think those medicine will put you to sleep too.

I am always on the computer but when I get too sick, sometimes all I can do is lie down on the coach and watch tv and wish I could die lol (not really but you know exactly what I mean cause you are going through it now).

It depend how sick I am or how much pain I am in. If I am very sick, I will practice my zazen (Zen meditation) where I will breathe into the pain and discomfort. Eventually I fall asleep or transcend the discomfort. If I am bored at any time, sick or not, I meditate and breathe into the boredom. It is very effective. :-) Derek

Hahaha, spending money ALWAYS makes me feel better.I LOVE to shop on amazon you can buy neww books(for when you get better and have time to yourself) Since youve seen everything on tv you could order new movies or find your fav show and buy the seasons to it and watch them.whatever it is they usually have cheaply priced..
Also,I play on pogo.Theres like 75 to 100 games to choose from and if your already a club pogo memeber, just buy a badge book or whatever there called:)...
Cleaning!,cleaning is time consuming and just turn your music up all the way all go to town:)...
hope these help!! wish you better soon:)

You can just sit till your head becomes fine.Just sit without thinking anything. It will relax your mind.If its night.Try to put a pain killer and sleep. It will keep your head relaxed.Don't go near the tv or computer. It will increase the head pain.

It does depend on how sick I feel. If I just have a cold I take my laptop to bed with me and check emails etc... and of course MyLot, but if I am not up to all that activity I just sleep and watch T.V. and moan to my husband if he is around, otherwise I will ring a friend and annoy her!

It depends upon one's interest and you could do the thing that you like the most. I read and watch TV but as you are not feeling well and can't do that, you should try and relax your body and mind. I will guide you. just sleep straight i.e., without any pillow and then start concentrating on your toes and feel that they are getting relaxed. as soon as you feel the relaxation there move a little upwards that is to your ankles and do the same thing. But very slowly move little by little and relax your whole body and the last thing should be your mind. As soon as you are able to relax your mind you will feel very fresh and even if you are sick you will be calm and relaxed after this. Try this out. I'm sure you will like this method of relaxation. Have a nice day.

I take cold and flu tablets and sleep. It's not that often when you don't have to feel guilty about doing nothing so I take the opportunity to sleep and eat. You sa you've already tried sleeping? Hmm..maybe take another cold and flu tablet...

I do a lot of gaming. I like playing computer games when I can sit or walk in my sickness. But if i am more sick, and need total bed rest, I prefer watching the TV. O have a TV in my bedroom. I am just not too fond of sleeping, and thus, I do not sleep much. When I was a kid I used a read a lot, but now I grow impatient while reading, and thus avoid reading.

When I am so sick that I can't do anything I just read novels. It is my best pass time and it also increases my knowledge base. When I don't have any novel, I watch movies and entertainment channels on tv.
