What's with peoples who think that it's ok to go to the express lane with a full cart?I mean i can see if you have a few more items, like 20 but let's not get carried aways!I don't like waiting in line either but it's worse when i only have a couple of things and i have to wait twice as long because the guy in front of me has a full cart in the express lane.Next time i'm going to say something!

it is annoying to say the least but there are many people who think that the rules just simply do not apply to them. the people who work in the store are the ones who need to say something not the people in line because then it usually causes an argument. i have no intention of arguing with people out in public because they are so not worth it. i would complain to the store manager or the cashier who is at the check out and ask her to tell the person to go to another line.

Here we have 8 line or 12 line they are called expres lines but they are anything but expers. most times I go to the normal lines because I know its faster even with 2 people with full carts infront. People end up with more items or what I hate most is when they pay with a credit card for a pack of chewing gums or a news paper.

This drives me crazy too. It's the same with people hauling a huge cart full of stuff through self checkouts that have a 12 item limit - and very limited space. I know that cashiers don't like to be rude but I wish they would just say 'sorry, you'll have to go through a regular till - this is express'. People can be such butt heads!

Oh my gosh this is just a pet peeve of mine. You are in a hurry to work form work or to or from and appointment and the morons in the express lane have 3 cart fulls and are writing a check ugggghhhh.
I think the salesperson should kick them out of the line. I love the self scan registers but then again you get these people that move really slow and have a ton of items i like to scan swipe key and leave

I hate when this happens! The express line is supposed to move faster! If i have one or two items over, I'll still get in the line, but three or more, i always wait in the longer lines... It's rude to just get in the short line with tons of items!

If YOU think it's annoying, you should try being the person on the other side of the register. I'm a cashier at a grocery store, and I absolutely hate working the express lanes because you'll ALWAYS get idiots that think it's perfectly okay to go over the 10 items or less limit. I've given up on trying to tell them they went over the limit, too - they either complain or give you a dirty look.
You should say something if they have a cart full in the express lane. It's wasting your time, the cashier's time, and the time of the people behind you. Express lanes are there for a reason, and some idiots like to exploit that because they don't like waiting in line (or they just don't read).
Besides, your cashier might be grateful if you do mention it. After a while a lot of us just give up on telling people to go to another line, because they just keep on coming. Apparently they don't know how to read the sign that explicitly states how many items you can have.

I know what you mean. I always count my items and wont go if I am even over by one because it is rude to those who end up behind me.
The other day in walmart they only had the express aisle opened. There were people in line with full carts, but no where else for them to go. This is what really made me mad. I went in for a quick baby gift and ended up waiting forever in line.

Ooh that really pushes my patience too. It annoys me when people are at the 'self checkout' and they spend absolutely ages scanning through their items... as well as having practically a truck load.
I only go to self service if i have like 5 items. It sucks huh? Maybe we should complain haha.

I hate that! As someone already said, I won't get in the express lane unless I know I have the right number of items. And what makes it worse is that the express checkouts usually have smaller counter space, so if someone has a lot of stuff, it takes more time for them to set everything up there to be scanned because there's it won't all fit.
Recently I've seen the opposite happen. Around the holidays the lines for the express lanes were long but everyone was within the limits. I could have gotten in line as well but I noticed the regular lanes were moving faster. I used that instead and was out there before the others I saw standing in the express lane. LOL

Good for you...i have notice that to sometime aroud dinner time peoples are just shopping for a few items for dinner and so the express lane is long,if you look around you sometime get lucky and can go to a regular lane and get out of there quickly.

Sometimes people will have a lot of items, but figure since it is 5 bags of chips, 10 cans of veggies, and 7 packs of Ramen that it is only 3 items... I never go to the express check out. I do my shopping late evening, and once every few weeks, so that lane is not open and I buy quite a few items anyhow.

I totally understand where you are comming from. I have seen this many times. I do not do this because I think that it is just wrong. Where I live the express lanes only allow you to have 12 items. Most of the stores will enforce this but people will still try to get in those lanes.

its not good for people who go with full cart , in the express lane.
salesmen should also tell them they should come in other counter.
u also say something to the full cart man or salesmen about the full cart they have and talk with them like scolding .then the shop keepers will get ashamed and see there will be no full cart people in express lane.

Yep this really irks me too... especially the people who stand there with their cart, looking all around or at the ceiling to avoid making eye contact with anyone because they really do know they shouldn't be in that line. I agree, though, that if the cashier or another employee doesn't tell them to move, they will continue to take advantage. It's for this reason that I really like that stores are starting to implement the self-serve checkouts. I first saw that in a grocery store when I was visiting NY State and was thrilled when I started to see a few crop up where I live. I think it can resolve a lot of the stress people feel about having to wait in line when they are pressed for time... if nothing else, it's an option :)

I don't think you can object. Every shopper has the freedom to choose as many objects as he wants, and we cannot scream on someone for buying more items than i have. We have no choice but to wait patiently in the que. When I have a bought a lot of items, I never offer the man behind m in que with 2-3 items, to come in front of me. That is the way it goes. Once I am in a line, I will have to wait.

Well I totally understand what you mean. But I have to share this. We were in Walmart about 2 weeks ago and we had two full buggies of stuff and all the checkout lines were way lined up. And there was the checkout that was 20 items or less that was totally empty and the woman that was checking made that come her motion and told us that she could check us out. I told her that we had two buggies and she said OK I can check yall out. Done with the first buggy and almost done without the second buggy people get behind us and I am sure that they were thinking the same thing but the cashier did not have anyone and told us she would get us so that is how it happened but the people behind us did not know this so there is no telling what they were thinking. I just wanted to share this with you though. Were you the one that was behind me in that line? LOL

I don't blame you at all, I wouldn't want to have to wait behind some inconsiderate person just because he was just to lazy to wait in the proper line up. I would have said something to him, not fair for him to do that. He is no more special than anyone else and he shouldn't get to bend the rules to suit his needs. I hate people like that.
