Do you prefer small dogs or big dogs?

I'm pretty torn in this matter. I like big fluffy dogs because they're adorable! But I think it's hard to take care of them. I also like small dogs but not something as small as a chihuahua because I'd rather have a cat than that - small dogs like a beagle look cute :P Fluffy dogs like a well-taken-cared Siberian Husky would look handsome as well.

I don't agree with buying dogs for the 'looks'. I own two German Shepherds because of their intelligence, their loyalty and their happy, friendly temperament. I definitely prefer bigger dogs.
They require a lot of grooming and brushing, as do many dogs, but ALL dogs require love, affection, discipline and lots of training.
There is nothing worse that owners of small dogs who let them do whatever they want because they're small. All dogs still need to be properly trained so they're well-behaved and not ruining everything you own just because they look cute.

I like small dogs because big dogs just take up too much space. The big ones are hard to handle. The small ones are easy because you can just pick them up and go. The small ones look cuter to me. As long as the dog is fun and doesnt make alot of racket I like em. You also have to feed the small ones less.

I prefer large dogs.
To be completely honest, it's been much easier for me to take care of larger dogs, probably because I don't have to be as careful with them as a small dog.
I do love small dogs, but just would never be able to care for one. I'd be so afraid of stepping on it. They really don't fit my lifestyle either.

Hi oyen,
I love big dogs! LOL! I agree with you, I'd rather have cats when I will have tiny dogs! LOL! I love huge dogs because they can be my guard too!

Moochie is a small dog. Among all dogs we've had in years, he is the only one manageable enough to render putting him on a leash useless. Plus he doesn't occupy much space at home. Taking him for a bath is pretty easy too! Bigger dogs means bigger maintenance. Bath, food, etc.

I am also torn on this one. I have 2 of each at the moment and love them all. But I would have to say that my little papillons are my favorite. The big dogs can guard me better but I really enjoy cuddling up with my little dogs. Papillons are a little bit bigger than a chihuahua but not by much. And they have lots more fur than them.

I've definitely never really been all that big of a fan of smaller dogs because they are always super hyper and they're always like jumping all over you and it's pretty annoying. I would much rather have a big dog then a small dog because big dogs usually just laid down with you instead of laying on top of you like most little dogs do. I have to little dogs in my house because they're my moms and they're barks are really annoying but they're okay I guess. I would much rather have a german shepard or something though.

I like all dogs, i prefer large dogs, which so far in my life i had large and small. Fluffy dogs i agree need to be groomed daily, which if you have the time, they are beautiful dogs, or if you could afford to take them to a pet salon saves you time, but costs money. I have a shepherd/husky mix, he is beautiful, i comb him daily which does not take long at all, and he loves to be combed. i had poodles which there hair had to be cut, to me that was time consuming for me.

I prefer larger dogs. I've owned Siberian Huskies for years, and wanted a Bernese Mountain Dog forever. However, just because of space constraints I've chosen to go with a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, which to me is like a big dog in a small package.
Keep in mind that bigger dogs need more of everything -- more food, more exercise, more grooming, more space, so you have to be realistic about what you can provide a dog in your life and make the decision based on that instead of the dog's appearance.

I usually prefer big dogs. I don't like little dogs because I find so many of them yappy and mean. I like some small breeds especially terriers. I like big dogs because of how friendly they are and how they like to play fetch and other fun games. I have two big dogs in my house now and I love both of their personalities.

Hello oyenkai! I would prefer small dogs especially as small as chihuahua. Actually, I am afraid of big dogs maybe because I have a phobia or something.

If ever I have a chance of owning a dog which I personally selected, I will choose a hound. I don't know why of all the sort, I choose this. I just thought that this particular breed is more on the elegant side. Although there are so many out there that I find cute, I still prefer this one.

I have to say I like dogs of all sort - I think they are one of the most animals because of their loyalty! I prefer cuddly furry dogs, I guess that are medium sized, not too big and not too small. I like golden retreivers as they are gentle and easy to get along with. They make great family pets I have heard.
