I heard this from my ex boyfriend and its a line that struck me and felt so much joy hearing that from him. Its one of my ideals for some to grow old with for that someone who loves the Lord. Though we no longer have the relationship but we vowed to serve the Lord and if we are God's will for each other then that would make us happy.

That is one of the Best things a relationship can ever have. Is a Love for each other and for the Lord. Personally for my husband and I our relationship is very close, and gets better day by day, but there is nothing that we cannot handle without putting God first in our life as well. Because I could loose my husband and be ok, but if I lost God I would have nothing.

When I get married, if I ever do, I hope to but I haven't met the right person yet, I hope that their faith will be a center point of their life as it is in mine and that they will put God and hopefully politics ahead of me.

That is a oneself statement that shows the connection between mind and the theology value that should be phrased or voiced out during "I and myself" state. But not suitable when there are two (2) physical body doing talking or chatting. Because when it is taken in low perception by one party, it will cause communication gap, breakdown, reluctant and high quality in anti-social.
Because why, Zelmarq?. Must remind your ex-boyfriend, God is never in comparison value. Sorry Zelmarq for my saying, it was a wrong declaration statement made by your ex-boyfriend. Because God no need our love because of the God state. Don't play a fool when we talk about God. If he said "I love you and I need God's loves more...", yes, I can agree with that statement. Justification not necessarily a satisfaction.

Human love is temporary and though it gives joy for a while it does not last long. But if it is combined with love for God then it becomes very powerful. When two people love each other and love God at the same time then their love becomes pure, open and transparent and a source of eternal bliss. When you love God then you love all humanity and then you do not harbour ill-will or hatred for anybody regardless of race, religion caste or country. Then there is love for all mankind, the animal and plant species. Such a love is regarded to be the highest and only a true devotee of God is capable of such love. The great saints and sages who have lived on earth are the best examples of such a love. In their eyes all mankind is equal because they see god in every human being, animal and plants. If we trey to emulate them and follow their examples then this earth will truly become a heaven instead of the hell that it is now.Maybe both of you will be able to come closer to each other united by the common love for God. God bless you.

hi zel ..
i know that we love lord more ... but the love we have for our partner is so very different ..from the love we have for lord because we love lord without actually expecting any "response" from god ...
but when it comes to our partner we want "feedback" we want physical attention, we want ... and more ...
we cant compare both the love ..
there was once my husband actually dedicated his love and attention to god .. it is good generally but it made him "confused" on his duties and responsibility to me as a partner ... it is much difficult to Hindus i guess because most Hindus when they dedicate their life to god they actually leave the "humanly" life behind .. like what "Buddha" did , he left his wife and child and went in search of god and God only ... it is much different in "christian" concept where "family" is included in the work of "lord"
cheers

Hi Zelmarq! That is so great to find someone who loves the Lord just as much as you do. I think it is one of the best ingredient for a relationship to last..having God in the center of any relationship. "Thy Will be done!"
Take care and blessings dear!

Yes, he did. ehemmmm We are still friends and have the same interests, we are both busy with each others work. Deep in our hearts we would want to end up happily ever after but only God knows who is His will for each of us and His will is perfect, we just have to wait.

yes it does sound great, but God has the final say, he has laid down the plans for our lives and have someone there for each of us and we just have to continue serving Him and giving all the love he deserves to please Him in our lives.
Thank you for sharing and have a nice day!

I haven't had someone tell me that one. I mean if the guy loves you but doesn't feel like he knows what God's will is just yet, then respect his desires to follow God's will. It takes a lot to follow God's will over our own.

Absolutely, if there is anything that your loved one would have you in exchange.. It would be so delightful to hear that it is the Lord that is his priority. Then you will be sure, that God is no. 1 in his life. Anything else that is the greatest in one's life other than the Lord is idolatry.

That is sweet, having a strong common interest helps relationships stay strong.
