I realize it's part of life, having the living daylights scared out of yourself. It was my turn again tonight. My three- four legged door bells sounded off a few minutes ago. I do forget that they will bard at a bird passing wind fifteen miles away! Anyway I turned on the porch light and looked out the window and jumped outta my skin!!! I raced for the phone (forgetting that I am on dial up so the line is busy) before it dawned on me that is was a 32 gallon garbage can with a bucket perched on top. I raked leaves yesterday and need to take them down to our group compost pile. OOPS , that would have been great reporting to the sheriffs department that I had a prowler...
How have you scared the daylights out of your self recently?

OMG! I have tears from laughing so hard. Has your heart stopped pounding yet? LOL! I've scared the bejeebers out of myself just looking out my front window in the middle of the night. And it was my own darned reflection that made me jump about a mile!

When I was living in Montana I did the same thing. There was a special report on the local news station stating that a convicted murder had escaped from the prison a few miles away...well I heard a noise outside my house so I raced to the window to check it out. I threw open the curtain and looked and there was someone staring back at me. I peed myself!!! After I finished peeing myself and screaming my brains out I realized that it was my reflection.

Well when I started living all alone then at times a little sound used to startle me and I used to check all doors if they are closed or not. Once one cat jumped from the window and I thought may be some thief has entered, I was very scared then. Now I am so used to sounds that I sleep soundly and even if someone knocks at my door I think may be neigbors are again putting some nail on wall.
