Is laptops needed for Engg. in US and Aus.?

I am trying to complete my higher education in Elect. Engineering in the US or Australia. Do anybody know whether a laptop is needed for attending classes in these countries?

i Study in Aus. It is not a must. But i would say it would easen up ur job heaps and save u lot of time.

Yes laptops are neede in australia AND u.s.a. In foreign cdountries studies are more advanced and they use latest technologies like laptops, etc. So it is must .

My boyfriend is and electrical engineering student in the US. He told me he would DIE without his laptop, but i think it depends on how you like to study and work!
