Another child mauled by a dog

This is the 3 child in less then 2 weeks lucky the 10 month old is alive. I love animals as much as the next person but why is this happening? Why cant people make sure that both animals and kids are safe? Animals are animals and kids are kids you cant trust them both. A 10 month old would pull and poke and play with the dog its the parents that should take care and make sure no harm comes to the child and the dog too. The other case was when the little child was killed by 4 dogs and her sister was seriusly injured, and the other case was a child with facial injury. Come on people be responcible.

I agree totally with you. I myself have had many dogs and many kids. But to trust them together alone....no way. We have had a pitbull in our house when my kids were young. They used to poke and prod at her all the time. She would never care but if we were not in the room then they were not together. I have also had a peekingese poodle cross and my son was really young and he used to corner the dog all the time, well the dogs natural behavior wa to nip at him. I was always around to make sure that neither dog nor child ever got hurt. Although I do believe that the dog was not in the wrong exactly (he felt threatened)I would always have some form of discipline for the dog, because he had to learn that he could not just bite he could growl though. You have to watch and teach your kids how to behave and teach the dog how to behave. And do not always just trust that everything will be okay take steps to make sure it is okay.

What I find strange also is that many of this attacks happen in other peoples homes so why would a parent live a child alone or no supervised when they know their child or even someone elses child has no experience with animals. Sure you can relax a bit at home after the kids and dogs have been together for a long time but I would never do it in someones house.

people think that dogs r gud friend...and they r right to a large extent. but they r nt gud for children even if u trust ur dog. u cant watch ur child for every second. means u cant save child from being in problem. If u trust ur dog then u should know that a single hair of a dog or cat could be a cause of brain cancer of a child.

I dont get the cancer thing but yes if you cant watch you child while playing with the dog then dont let the child play until you can watch it
