[b]well i am ashamed to tell this but i don't. i know that this should be one of the first thing to do in the morning before leaving out but it is just that i don't have this urge to do it early morning. another thing is that whenever nature calls, the timing sets in when i am in a work place. hahaha! this is funny but true. i can say that i am a constipated person and i don't take any medications for it. i have this belief that i don't my body to get used to taking medications for i may have the tendency to get immuned with the medications i take in for my body. i won't be elaborating more of how many times i do it in a week but one thing for sure that all i want to say is that you have to practice doing it daily to avoid internal complications...
how about you? do you do it regularly?

hmm.. what i can suggest is: drink atleast 2 glasses of water as soon as u wake up. your stomach will be empty at that time. and after sometime you will feel like going. i have tried this and this is the best medicine, trust me. and also make sure that you include food with a lot of fiber in your diet i.e; vegetables and fruits. it helps in good and regular bowel movement. good luck skbh.

you can actually train yourself. Drink a lot of water in the morning like 2 glasses, and you might feel the urge. water helps loosen it. Wake up earlier than you usually do so you have time to do it.
I do it regularly in the morning. Before, when I was still younger, I would give myself time to do it. I get up early and I wont go out of the house without going to the bathroom.

[b]hi katrhina23!
it is best to do it regularly. when i was young my father would train me to do it every morning but there are times that i really can't. i also found out that too much straining can cause production of hemorrhoids so most of the time i avoid doing it.

Hi skbh, different people have different habit to do their regular bowel movement. Some do it in the morning after getting up, some do it in the afternoon and some do it after having dinner. Most of us do this regularly everyday whereas some would do it in every other day or more than that. Some would go to the toilet twice a day. I was told that a healthy person would do this regularly depending on his own habit unless it changes often and irregularly.
I usually would visit the toilet after having breakfast. I believe taking sufficient water and more leafy vegetable, as well as to have regular physical exercise daily would help a lot to have regular bowel movement daily. I notice that I could hardly do my regular bowel movement during the first couple of days when go on vacation.
Happy posting and take care.

Hi skbh,
I have no problem about this when I was still in our Country since I eat vegetables everyday and here, I noticed that I am doing this only once a day and sometimes none in a day and I hate it!
So, last night, I eat a lot of salad and I made it after that!
I will be bothered a lot whenever I cannot do it before taking a shower!
In our case, just try to eat a lot of vegetables, I do know if you like it but it helps a lot!

Interesting topic But is very important.
I feel the waste disposal system of our body is important too. This keeps you healthy. If you practice regular habits, the body system also works properly, like getting early, sleeping on time, EATING in-time and a little care about your intake. eat fruits.
Eat More breakfast, less at dinner( you may not need calories at night for sleeping).
that's it.

my bm's are always adjusted depending my daily schedule. monday to friday i defecate in the afternoon or evening (depending on what i ate) because in the morning i am on haste to get myself set for work so under those circumstances my bowels don't move.
weekends or when i am on vacation i defecate in the morning, i take also plenty water to help the urge come easier. i defecate 5-6 times weekly, i evacuate very easily and effortlessly. i also take plenty fibres, water and exercise. i am 33 years old

Well my grandmother who raised me didn't care how many times you went during the week - weekend was clean out time so every Friday night I got a big dose of syrup of figs. It tasted quite good actually. When other kids were out playing in the street on Saturday morning I was spending my time in the bathroom. LOL Well in my adult life there is hardly a day that I do not eat a vegetable or some fruit at some part of the day. When I get up in a morning I take my pills and vitamins then have my first cup of coffee. I think the coffee is now my syrup of figs because soon after I have drank it I am off to the bathroom and there it is - my daily BM. Very few times in my life have I ever been constipated - it was usually when I was pregnant with my three kids. I drink very little water but I do at times drink a glass of fruit juice during the course of the day. I was always led to believe that not everyone goes every day and that is quite normal.

No this is actually a big problem for me. I only poop every other day or every three days. And most of the time it is fine. I'll have breakouts and bad skin because of it. But what I hate about this condition is that my stomach hurts!!! I drink water and green tea to help get rid of constipation but it doesn't always work. Now I drink medication. The laxative always works, but I don't want to be dependent on it.

Well, having bowel movement is all depends on the body. Like others say that their normal bowel movement everyday or every two days is normal with no hassle to do valsalva manuever or to having hard time to force your stool to get out of it's place. For me, well there are times that I have bowel movement everyday or every two days and it also depends on what I eat so I make sure I eat lots of fibers like fruits, vegetables and I drink lots of fluid in a day. But of course, I get constipated to by eating lots of meat and low fiber delicious foods. I cant help but to eat them.... But I'm preventing it now.

As one poster noted, hydration is a great idea. If you are having movements but would like a little more regularity, VEGGIES! Green, dark, leafy, raw, as in broccoli, spinach, cucumbers. Fruit moves things along too. Once a day take a bunch of spinach or lettuce leaf other than iceberg, and toss with other raw crunchies and a flavorful but healthy dressing. Steam some broccoli, drizzle with olive oil, parmesan, garlic, salt and pepper. If you're still needing some persuasion, an herb tea is great. It doesn't even have to be a laxative tea, but green tea is a good one.

everyone should have a bowel movement everyday if not once, twice, or even 3 times. Keeping your colon cleaned out helps with almost every illness. I use a product called Salba , Its a great source of fiber, I get it in the ground form. Its natural and it is a whole food. Its not that expencive. Can be found in health food stores. Just a spoon full in your water every morning. It has kind of a nutty taste. You can also sprinkle it on the foods that you eat during the day. It is also a good source for omega-3s, antioxidants, and protein, besides the fiber.

In my case I don't keep track of when to let go of the bomb. I think my body get's rid of it's every other day or depending on the call. If I feel that there's no turning back but to let go I just run towards the War Room and drop the load all the way. Boom! feels good and lighter than air after that... Heaven for me.

I usually do it in the morning, before I go to work. to have a daily bowel movement, you need to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, eat foods rich in fiber, fruits and vegetables may do. Do not drink any medications nor strain when you're constipated, you may have hemorrhoids or even fissures when do that.

You have guts!!! This is one of those discussions that I am not sure I would have started. Original though. I have always had problems going everyday. I have went three weeks without one and took like 20 laxatives, and was given castor oil(YUCK!!) and still could not go. Finally I went a few days later. But now I use that Fibersure and all I ever drink is tea so I put it in the tea when I make it. It is tasteless so you can even cook with it.

i do my business everyday. and it's a must for me if not i do feel sick sometimes. but there's a friend of mine who actually goes to the toilet once or twice in a week! he'd take some laxatives to help his bowel movement and found out one day that these things actually are bad for the liver. so now he practices to drink a cup of warm plain water first thing in the morning, everyday. it's getting better lately plus he won't have to take those laxatives or such pills to help him go to the toilet.

A doctor once told me that regular bowel movement is similar to your regular sleeping habit. For example, If you continuously sleep starting at 9pm, your body will adopt that habit. Eventually, you don't need to do some ceremonies just to feel sleepy because your body then will voluntary gives you the sign that you already wanted to get some sleep. Regarding your bowel movement, at first, try to push yourself to do it regularly.

I have the same problem and can go a long time without using the bathroom. The longest ive gone without using the bathroom is an entire month. This is a horrible problem to have. Unlike you I will take medicine because after not going for a long time I start to have pains in my stomach and have to do something. I find that if I take medication for about a week out of a month it helps to relieve any discomfort.
