how long does it take to you to forget an ex?

I think it definitely depends on how long the relationship lasted and how close the two of you got. If it was just a fly by night kind of thing then yes I would forget rather quickly. But if it was a serious relationship, and you were deeply involved with that person on an emotional as well as physical level then yes it could take a long time.

I would say that it definitely depends on your mindset as well as how much your ex actually meant to you. Now that I have the best girlfriend that I've ever had I have easily forgotten about my past exes. My current girlfriend blows my exes out of the water. My last ex was probably the worst girlfriend I've ever had though and I'm really glad to be able to forget about her. Even though she tried to come crawling back to me I had to say no even though it did make me sad to hear her sounding that sad and down but I have to think about myself sometimes as well.

good for you...but i took a more than a year..to forget n get over my ex....but still today wen i fight wid my bf...it makes me remember of my ex...forgetin him was as difficult as seperating your mind from yourself....bcz my frndship wid my ex...mattered me even our relationshp ended...but today it seems tat ur frndship is also over...no regrets over it...but it...gives me alot of pain.... its has been 3 yrs....but still im not able to completley remove my ex...

WOW dude forgetting your ex girlfriend that fast.incredible.! i on the other hand can't do that, when my relationship with a woman ended it takes months if not years before i forgot them and open my doors again for another relationship. why is that you forgot them that fast?

maybe they are not totally give their heart to that people that's why they are fast to moving on. but i beleive if someone are totally inlove to their beleived it's not easy to forget. like what i experienced before for almost 1 year i can't forget him. it's hard.

Forever. lol I don't think we ever fully forget an ex. We might remember less about those you weren't with for long. But ones that we were with for any length of time, I don't think we ever fully forget them. After all there were some good times along with the bad, or we wouldn't have been with them in the first place. I know that my soon to be ex well hold a place in my best memories forever. Even though it didn't work out like I had hoped for, there are way more good times than bad. As for my ex-husband, we were together 16 years, you don't forget that.

Well.. Trying to forget someone takes me about three months. Depending if I still have feelings for the person, it can last for a little more than three months. While I try to recover or after, I'll definitely meet someone anyway.. Ehehehe

i think it mainly depends how the relationship was. i forgot my ex as fast as i could (probably about two months) because she started to take control of my life and make all the decisions for me. i told her about my problem and she said that's how she is and is not willing to change. frustrated enough, i ended up leaving her. i was with her for about 3 years too! i was sad the first couple weeks, then i was angry that it got to that point. then i finally let her go and moved on.
