I think one cannot generalise like this, for the level of education and upbringing is not equall is all countries. However generally speaking, women manage their homes very successfully and still have the patience and persevereance to go to work. Their time management if skillful and with todays IQs up with respect to girls, I think they would make better managers.

I wish we could do something for those poor unfortunate women in countries where they are looked down upon. Have you read the book, A Thousand Splendid Sons by Khaleed Hooseni. It makes you weep when you see the plight of small girls in Afhanistan who are married of to men who could be their fathers and the sadness. Also read the Kite Runner. These books will open your eyes to the oppression which certain Muslim countries treat their women folk. How does one go about trying to do something for them, when their own menfolk are swayed by stupid old ideas which the imams keep putting into their heads, pulling the country to stone age.

Yes I agree with you but there are some cruel countries but not all Muslim countries its not all the people who thinks this even in developed countries this things happen it depends on the people who do and think this. They have poor thinkig but they are also now developing slowly. But women should have some inner strength to fight against it.

I totally agree with you Kety as they manage their work and home very efficiently but there are some countries where women are not allowed to show their skills and in some countries girls are married at very early age. So why not we come together and make some difference in this countries.
What you say.

I am curious why you think a woman couldn't be a good manager? My mother has been a supervisor, and was very good at it. Most of my employers have been female, actually. THat being said, their superiors must have felt a woman could and would do a good job.

I can tell this because womens dual responssibility of managing home and work if they are working. A research tells us that women can be a good manager but half of their concentration is diverted at their homes so they cannot give their 100% in the work they do. I m very sorry to say they but they cannot be better than man.

I think your opinion is very sexist. Women have been managing households for centuries. Until the 1970's when did you ever see a man in the grocery store? He might have earned the money but it's women who were in charge of it. Now, because we live in a modern society men and women can do anything the other gender was previously charged with beyond the actual biological differences. I am aware of those and do believe they exist.

Its good to hear your opinion that girls are best in their field. But there are some countries where women does not get the right to work and progress. what about these countries i know you live in modern world but there are some countries where because of values and ethics there are child marriages and much more what women have to bear. therefore they cannot go out and show their skills thats why i raised this discussion.

This is 2009! How sexist can you be? I'll match my managerial skills against anyone's. How about Margaret Thatcher? Indira Gandhi? Golda Meir? You seem to be living in 1709 or something. Women could do it then, too, and the best example is the fine homes and families they masnged. Men just kept them oppressed and out of the business world.

Cool Cobra teacher i know you are the best as you handle both home and work very well. It was just i wanted to see what are the others opinion about this. i know you can do well in this world but there are some decisions they find difficult as if a girl is married and they give birth to new born baby they cannot attend the office as they have to see after the child therefore they cannot handle their work in a proper way.
Dont take is seriously just wanted to have your opinion.

A mind is a terrible think to waste. it dosen`t matter if you are a man or a woman. It`s how hard you work. I have lived in Asia for 9 years and I can tell you beyond a doubt that here woman make the best managers. They work twice as hard . Most of the screw ups that i have worked with are all men.At the end of the day, if you want to do the job you will. If you don`t you won`t.

i know they are better manager than us as they have the dual responsibility of managing homes and at work therefore they are better manager but they sometimes lack decision making. what do you think.

Your gender doesn't make you a good manager. Good managerial skills require a certain personality that can adapt quickly, make snap decisions, organize the work place and the employees, be diplomatic with employees and clients and a lot more. If you have that personality, skill, experience and education you can be a good manager regardless of your gender. Get over it. Women have been multitasking for centuries. That's what running a household is all about. When women began to work outside the home, they just shifted those multitasking skills into high gear and never missed a beat.

Excellent reply. Now thats what I was looking for. I want to have your name. There are many responses who are either defending the topic and some are writing against it but there are very less people who think from their brains and have good and mature thinking like you. In each response I have written that Im not offending the womens but just want to know your views and the views of especially girls was y cant a women be a good manager but I know they are good manager but they are not mature enough to think what im talking about. You are mature to think that.
Well what about the bad situations less developed countries are facing.
Your views.

Hi armystag,Of course a woman can make a better manager than a man,Why on earth not?I think women in society are treated in a very unfair way and if you look at every big company in the western world,No the whole world,Then the majority of the top positions are all filled by men,But this isn't because the men are necessarily any better rather that the women are not given the chances that men are,But i can assure you that women can do just as good if not better than men at any job.

My Friend Joniebee as per your statement "Women can make a better manager THAN man is wrong and is a topic on which we can debate life long. But I agree that women make a better manager.
I will give you one situation in which you have a new born baby and you are a manager in a company. If you have a meeting and its very urgent how can you attend the meeting.

I think it`s based on how they are raised. For example in Korea the woman runs the house and controls all of the money in the house. The man goes to work and when he gets paid he turns the paycheck over to the women . They make all decisions that deal with the kids as well. So basically the man dosen`t really do jack. But like I said anybody can be a good manager it`S about desire and ability.

I totally agree with you but my friend there are certain situations in which women cannot give their 100% but they are the potential to do it, it depends on the situations. There are many situations in which man can perform well and in some situations man cannot perform well. But they are some or the other way equal.
What do you think.

Now i know why that woman from korea went crazy when my dads friend married her. My dads friend worked in a bank for the U.S. military over in South Korea and he married somebody there. She later said she wanted access to all his finances since they were married. He didn't feel comfortable giving her access to his finances since they just got married. They got into a big fight. Its a culture issue. Thanks

This debate could have been quite arguable if asked may be a decade ago. However in this age and generation where gender bias is reducing it sounds little strange. As per me a good manager is the one who is approachable, empathatic and who has the passion to transform vision into action . Since women by nature are softer so she can be more approachable or empathatic...also now-a-days women are getting more and more passionate about anything and everything. So you see women has all the three qualities to be a good manager.Hence she is better manager than men.

Im very sorry to say they are good manager but you cannot say that they are better than men. There are some situations where women have constrains and there are certain situations where mens have constraints so we can say they are equal but no one is better than one another. They are equal Namita madam.
