To begin with lemme share a few:
1. Create a drive Menu for My Computer
Sometimes it becomes problem to go to a specific drive and every time you need double click on My Computer and click on the specific drive, specially when in hurry.
Well you can display the drives as menu in XP.
a. Right click on Start button and select Properties.
b. Select the Customize radio button and then goto the Advanced tab in the next window.
c. Goto My Computer option and select the Display as Menu radio button.
d. Click OK, Apply to save.
Bingo! Now you can get all the drives under My Computer.
2. Add Boot in Safe Mode Option in BOOT MENU
Sometimes when you need to boot in Safe mode, it becomes tedious to press F8 and then select Safe mode from another menu. With a tweak you can now add it to the BOOT Menu itself.
a. Right click on My Computer -- Properties
b. Goto Advanced tab and click on Startup and Recovery option -- Settings button
c. On System Startup click the Edit option.
d. Now the boot.ini file should open. Detect the line with "/fastdetect" (without quotes) switch.
e. Highlight and copy that line and paste it below.
f. Change the part that reads Windows="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" to Windows="BOOT IN SAFE MODE"
g. Add the following at the end of the line -- "safeboot:minimal /sos /bootlog" (without quotes).
h. Restart and the option is there!
Hope this helps.
