Don't you hate it when you are trying to have a good spirited debate with someone and they start getting personal on you? Or when they absolutely refuse to listen to reason or even consider possibilities. Some people just want to hear that they are right despite the evidence you lay out for them. They just won't listen to anything you say and it takes the fun out of discussions and debates, what do you think?

Oi! I hate it when they do that. It's the worst when I'm debating with my dad because he likes to raise his voice and say stuff like "you're too young to know" or "when you are my age you'll agree with me", and he'd constantly interrupt me. With when people do that online, it annoys me but I try not to make a big deal about it. It's just that a lot of people are heavily invested into their own opinion (especially when you're talking about politics or religion) and it just can't be helped. Best thing to do is smile and walk away.

I like to laugh and comfort myself that when 'they' resort to this, it's because they have no argument!! If I see someone on my 'side' do this (tho I'm often somewhere in the middle) I know they have not studied up on their material to support their view. Resorting to insults, etc, simply shows a lack of any good points to support their theory. As you can see, I am in total agreement with you on this!

I really do hate it, as well. It's really not pleasant, when people are opened to listen to others' point of view, and/or are simply not opened to anything, simply closed minded. I can't stand it. I get so frustrated when I'm face to face with someone like that.
