Spicing Up Your Scrambled Eggs

Okay, so eggs, milk, salt and pepper. Makes for a quick breakfast that is more than just cereal. But I got a little creative today and added tofu, chopped onions, grated cheese, squishy tomatoes bits and blended in some Chinese Knorr (Hong Kong Chef). It was great. So what are you eating or mixing with your scrambled eggs?

Right after we cook a ham, I like to chop the ham up into bits and scramble that and some cheese in with my eggs and it's really good. The salty ham adds a lot of flavor to the eggs.

Salsa...I am all about the salsa. Either in an omelet or just mixed in with the scrambled eggs, salsa is a great addition. I, of course, add my ground flax seeds as well. Either sprinkle on some shredded cheese of scramble it right on in and you have a great meal - not just for breakfast! Oh, and contrary to popular opinion, real men do in fact eat quiche!

I really, truly love salsa but it gives me a tummy ache. That's why I just opted for the tomatoes. And you know I've meaning to get me some of that ground flax seeds. I will. Real men eat quiche huh? I believe ya.

I know, it's crazy. Even the mild salsa gets my stomach all up in knots. It's like cold milk in the morning. I'm just sissy like that.

So use the salsa that is made without the tequila, silly! Just kidding. Perhaps it is the cilantro that gets to you? I can't imagine what it is in the salsa that would upset your stomach.

Garlic would probably really spice it up. Fresh or powdered?

I like when my husband makes our scrambled eggs and mixes salsa into them. They don't taste right when I do it. But my favorite thing to do is to slice up a firm yet ripe tomato into large chunks and salt it. Then when the eggs are completely cooked and nice and fluffy I toss in the tomatoes just long enough for them to warm up a bit. Yum, yum, yum. And plain buttered toast....... oh, I'm hungry now.

Ah, go ahead and just drool, my friend. I do that with my tomatoes too. Their the last thing I toss in. Plain buttered toast . . . sour dough!!! It rules.

Wow, this sounds great and my mouth is watering. How did you cooked it? did you just mixed everything and fried it or did you cook it just like you cook omelet? i am just wondering... But that sounds really wonderful and yummy. I gotta stop or else i'll be salivating in front of my computer. Happy Mylotting and thanks for your share of recipe.

It's almost like cooking an omelet but I just add everything in a frying pan and keep stirring until, magically, scrambled eggs appear. My mom thinks I'm a great cook because of this. I love her.

That sounds yummy!!! I put in milk, salt, pepper, onions, garlic, paprika powder and Maggi. More or less, depends on my mood. I even used to put in nutmeg. When I have tomatoes, they go in too. When I have left over meat, I throw that in too. One day with milk , one day without. Sometimes only onions and garlic, some days not. All depends on the mood , but normally I make it like that. Take care. Groetjes.

Ja lekker heh? I had to think about what paprika was. I remember . . . bell peppers, right? What kind of left-over meat do you add. Mmmmm, steak sounds good. Anyhow, hope you're having a wonderful week, Marga.

Paprika is not spicy, you have them in red, green and yellow. I thought it was the same in English? I need to go back to school, hahahaha! Anyway, just leftover meat, steak, hamburger meat, ham, sandwich meat. My week was okay, I am just having a little problem paying the bills. That makes me moody, can't sleep on regular times. Oh well, things can only get better, hahaha! Hope you had a nice week. Have a nice weekend. Groetjes Margajoe.

Hello my friend gtargirl Ji, I am very sorry to dis-appoint you that I do not fall myself in your category and do not know anything about eggs, as I have never eaten them, nor I have anything as a future plan to go with eggs. I have many other varieties of B'fast selections. I am enjoying my own. May god bless you and have a great time.

Turthfully I am lucky if I get to through in a few mushrooms and onions. I am not very creative in the kitchen. My husband is the real cook in the house. He makes his almost like yours, he also used green peppers, spanish chilli powder and on his own plate, an extra splash or two of hot sauce. Mmmmmmmmmm, much better than any of the eggs that I have made recently,LOL.

One of my favorite comfort foods from childhood is potatoes and eggs. My mother used to make it all of the time. You cut up potatoes into small chunks (or you can use the frozen hash brown cubes for convenience), fry them, then pour off the excess oil (I leave a tiny bit in to keep the pan nonstick) and scramble eggs on top of the fried potatoes. I also like to put some chopped onions in it. Then I eat it with ketchup, although other members of my family like it plain, and my husband puts salsa on it when he eats it. Another thing I like to do is get a pack of chopped broccoli and scramble the eggs with that, and some cheese, and for me chopped onions for that too. YUMMY!

I am not one for Tofu, nad have never been one for Tofu, but I love Scrambled eggs with some Sausage, onions, green peppers, and some Colby or Jack Cheese on top. You can also add this wish gravy or salsa and sour cream on top as well just like you would eat an omelet. It is so GOOD!!

I usually eat my scrambled eggs plain or with cheese and green pepper if I have them. I like mushrooms too but usually that's a treat saved for when I order eggs out.

I am normally pretty boring with my scrambled eggs. I mostly eat them plain with a little horseradish sauce on them. Sometimes I will do onions, mushrooms, and some bacon, but not usually.

I like scrambled eggs with cheese and possibly onions. they are actually good by themselves. i think scrambled eggs are really an easy and simple food to like whether or not they have anything added to them. They are almost a perfect food and are really super. I also like them with tomatoes and peppers.

It is kind of a perfect food. You can have it any time of the day. I haven't tried peppers with my eggs. The green peppers I don't like so much but I love the yellow and orange ones. I don't know how they would taste with eggs though. Maybe I'll try. Thanks for stopping by Snowy.

When I lived in Arizona I ate a lot of juevos rancheros and chorizo with eggs. My roomie was hispanic. sometimes when I want something light for dinner I will make a nice fat omlette. Eggs---they are not just for breakfast. LOL Happy myLotting!

I love quiche, no really I do . . . especially with spinach. I haven't tried spinach in scrambled eggs. Wonder how that would taste. It might be a little messy, I would think. I'm going to try it though. Enjoy that quiche.
