and I cannot drink any more coffee today as it will wire me and I won't be able to sleep tonight. Not that I got much sleep last night as I did something really dumb. Gasp. Horror. You did something dumb? Yes I did, believe it or not. I have to take a small red pill for high blood pressure each evening before I go to bed. For those of you on this type of medication remember to take half in the morning and half at night because most people have heart attacks or strokes in the early hours of the morning when the medication from the previous morning has worn off. Anway, back to the point. I took a little small red pill but it was the wrong little small red pill. The little small red pill was the small red pill that should be taken in the morning as it is a diuretic. You can guess what happened. I was up every hour or so on the loo getting rid of excess water etc. Hardly slept at all. Have you ever taken or known someone to take the wrong medication by mistake and what were the consequences?

Hi ya cynthiann I am not on any medication or have never really taken any medication for any sort of problems that you have mentioned only birth control. I don't know of anyone else that has ever taken the wrong pill for something either. Sorry to be so boring but I really wanted to respond to your discussion anyway as you always do mine!! I think my kids will soon be sending me take medication though, does that count? LOL

Sorry I didn't mean do the kids count I meant that they send me so crazy sometimes that they will send me to see a shrink who will put me on pills and did that count as taking medication so that it was ok to get involved with your discussion!!

Oh yes, I have done that before. It was about ten years ago. I had yet to be diagnosed with being bipolar, so I was then on an anti-depressant, and also a sleeping pill because I could never go to sleep. One morning before church I was in a hurry, so I got the anti-depressant, took a drink of water, and started to walk out the door. Thinking twice I went back to the bottle I had just taken a pill out of. I had accidentally taken the sleeping pill! I drank a big coke on the way to church, hoping it would keep me awake.

Yes, actually the caffeine from the coke did help. Of course I had to take a nap right after church, but it kept me awake long enough. : )

i am very tired as well but i went to the specialist and apparently, i have a lung infection. i did that once, i took an allergy pill that was for daytime, not that it makes you any more awake, but it sure didnt promote restfulness!

Yes, I myself have became a victim of wrong medication, when I was a teen. Due to that, I remained hospitalized for about 10 days and required lot of medication to take.

I have never done anything like that before, but I do know how it feels to get little sleep because you are in the bathroom all night. I sometimes drink way too much liquids at night.

when I reach NC I am going to buy one of those containers that you put a week's worth of oills in for day and night. This should help. I cannot imagine taking 14 a day - I am sorry that you have to take so many pills. I always have to eat something first -even a slice of brad as I get nauseous. Blessings

Hey cythiann! Oh my what a terrible mistake! I can just imagine how that went wrong! I guess you should make sure which little red pill you are taking! I have taken the wrong pill before, but not with such a drastic outcome! I would think that kind of mistake would definitely be one that you surely won't ever make again! I have two pills that look very similar and I sometimes do mix them up, but they don't have side effects that I would notice. I also have to be more careful when I am taking my meds. I sometimes tend to not pay enough attention to what I am doing when getting them together and that is really not good. I hope that you do get the proper rest you need tonight.

My husband does that occasionally too! I sleep very soundly however and have no clue until the morning that he has been up so many times in the night. BUT...I hear any noise that the kids make at night. Go figure! My husband gets up earlier than I do and maybe I'm programmed to ignore him at night!Poor guy! Gotta nap planned?

So I am not the only dumb one? I know about being programmed for kids to arrive. Just wait until they are teenagers! Thanks for responding. Blessings

Sorry you have taken the wrong pill. I hope you get a better night tonight. I sometimes forget to take my evening pills, so the next day I cannot breath, but I usually do remember now as my Mother bought me a pill container with the days and times a day on it and you load it up with pills for the week. I think that would help you also this box, as it has am and pm on it and you could put the right ones in for the different times you take them.
