Your profile says that you live in the U.S. but I'm not sure which state. DH and I took a 3 week road trip last year along the New England coast. It was fabulous. We flew into Rhode Island and drove through Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. My only regret was that we didn't have enough time to go into Canada. I would have loved to hike the Bay of Fundy region. If you're on the west coast, I woould recommend driving the Oregon coast and if you have 3-4 weeks, you should be able to drive the Olympic peninsula in Washington state and probably go to Canada as well. I loved Vancouver, one of my favorite cities. We stayed near English Bay. We also took the ferry to Vancouver Island. Victoria is great, a touch of England in North America. I live in Southern California and one of my favorite trips is up the California coast. With 3-4 weeks, you should be able to drive most of it. I love La Jolla, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Malibu, Santa Barbara, Monterrey, Carmel and San Francisco. Wherever you go, have a great time!

If you like the feel of small towns, nice people and history. Check out the Hill Country in Texas. You will find a lot of small towns with big history and lots of friendly attitude. The Hill Country is covered with wildlife and adventure. The cities you want to research for this particular area are; Kerrville, Fredricksburg, Comfort, Ingram, Hunt, Center Point. You can go to the city websites to gather information on each town.

You should try to go to my local area. It's called the Pioneer Valley and it include Amherst, Massachusetts, where there are lots of colleges and therefor lots of free stuff for anybody to do, a tip no one ever remembers when they are planning to travel. We also have lots of fun festivals here in the summer. I think you'll probably enjoy the abundant amount of farmer's markets. Let me know if you're coming I would like to meet you, I live just outside of Amherst.

Adrian, I had to look in your profile to find you're in the states. I'm assuming your road trip will be in the states, but it could include Canada or Mexico.... If you want to see some great cities, Boston, New York City, New Orleans, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Victoria BC, Quebec, Mexico City, Acapulco. Natural wonders: Niagra Falls, Crater Lake, Yosemite, Old Faithful at Yellow Stone, Monument National Park. Amusement type places: Disney Land and World, Busch Gardens, 6 Flags. My advise plan some things you definately want to do, figure out your route and then look up whats along the way that you might also see and do. And of course have fun!
