I am a foster parent and love doing it. With all the crimes against children and parents addicted to drugs, there are so many children neglected and in need of love and guidance. I do not claim to be a perfect parent but I do try my best to keep a stable home for my children and other's children who need a temporary home. If you have the love to share,time, and dedication there are sooooo many kids who need someone to love them during difficult times in their life. Even if you have children of your own, you can make a difference, I have four of my own and three foster children. Call your state office (or county) and inquire. As a foster parent you do go through a lot and you are definitly held to a higher standard of parenting, but all the BS is well worth it when you know that you have made a difference. Know that no one will tell you that and you probably will not be thanked, but you will know and that child will go on in life realizing that people do care about them.
