to watching 'House'. It started gradually as I do not have the time to watch much tv but I do like to relax and watch for an hour after the twins are in bed. Now I find myself looking at all the cable channels available when home to find out if an episode is showing that night. He is such a complex character. I did not like him at first - but somehow he has grown on me a bit. I'm not sure why. Do any of you watch 'House' and did his character grow on you?

I so agree with the character of House. I used to find him to repulsive. But after you watch the show ,he very much so grows on you . He doesnt have a good bedside manner, but he makes up for it other ways

After hearing Hugh Laurie speak in his native English accent, I thought give that man an Emmy! I can't believe how well he lost his accent for the role.

LOL welcome to the world of House addicts :p I also love that show. I have the first 3 seasons on DVD and looking forward to buy the 4th. I wasn't able to watch on TV due to so much work so I content myself with the DVDs, which, turned out to be better because I can go marathon watching. Sometimes, I finish 4-5 episodes in 1 night! Talk about addicting hahaha. I like all the characters. And Dr. Chase's voice is a dream :)

hey se7enthbird, check out the movie sense and sensibility that starred kate winslet and emma thompson. he also has a small role there. it's funny because he was irascible in that role too! kinda reminiscent of his character dr. house although the movie was made in the mid 90s :)

I don't have much time to watch the television, either, but I do enjoy watching House. Like you, I didn't like House are first. His personality and constant ridicule rubbed me the wrong way. Who thinks that type of boss would be in any way acceptable? However, there's more to the House than the ridicule. His inability to form healthy relationships, his fierce intelligence, and his constant pain- I think that it says quite a bit. There's a sort of sadness to his personality. He's someone that deserves pity.

I also was itritated by him at first, but also intrigued and this is when I started watching the show more and more to try and fathom his personality. I agree with you - I do feel that he is a lost soul and sad. Thanks for responding

Oh yeah, I only started watching it two years ago, and I got interested because of all the reruns shown on the cable channel, USA. But I have to say, I don't like how Chase and Cameron have lost screen time because of Thirteen and the other two guys who are House's new "team." I miss Foreman, Chase, and Cameron being together and keeping the banter going with House. But I still like the show an awful lot.

Thanks for respondingAmbiePam. I've only been watching the show for three or four months so I don't have the 'history' of the series. House has grown on me though - I think that he is a brilliant actor who brings so much to the role.

I am also addicted to watching television and espaecially when it comes to cartoons. I really love watching mickey mouse, pluto, donald and the whole family. I think it is really difficult to leave the television sets when it comes to your favourite programmes. To remove my addiction, I have started being out of the house during that time.

Hi ya cynthiann I have caught 'House' I think only once but I did find it really good. Hugh Lawrie is a great British actor and has appeared in numerous and different roles. A lot of people might remember him in Stuart Little which is something so adverse to House. I am sure you are more than aware of his work but fellow mylotters might not be so!!

Well he was one half of a comedy duo with Stephen Fry who is a very intelligent and very funny man too. He also appeared in the BlackAdder series with Rowan Atkinson, Stephen Fry was in that too. He was also in a series called Jeeves and Wooster where he played a toff and Stephen Fry played his butler Jeeves. Blimey anybody would think that I was Hugh Lawrie's no.1 fan. I just like him but I actually like Stephen Fry more!!

Hi there, The television show "House" on of my favorite dramas on television right now. I just love him. I love his sarcasm. I love his humor and I love his wit. Then again I may be just a bit biased, as I enjoy just about any medical show. I know his humor definitely is not for everyone but I for one am a huge fan! I like him but I sure as heck wouldn't wanna work with him! Happy Mylotting!

Yes House is a great show. My favorite character is House because hes mean and gets the job done. I told my friends to watch an episode now they are hooked on to the show. Its pretty crazy with all these weird medical problems and fixing it. They seem to do a lot of episodes where the patient has a big problem and they try to fix it alot of a crazy risk but in the end its fixed with like a pill. I was like after all that, they only needed a little pill? lol Oh well its pretty entertaining to watch.

With me, meeting Dr House was love at first sight. He's the best character! I think it's amazing that he is actually british and started out in comedy. His character is so serious and funny all at the same time. It's also been fun watching his relationships with the other characters grow. I love what's going on with Cuddy now!

Hey cynthiann! I fell in love with him the first time I saw him! I have such a mad crush on Dr. House! My own Dr. was the one that got me to start watching him 4 years ago when the show started! And then my Dr. stopped watching it! Now I keep watching it and he doesn't! I just love Dr. House! There's just something so sexy about him! I love his blue eyes and his grubby look! He's mean, but smart and crazy! Sometimes the show is a little to gory, but I love it anway! I have been watching it since the beginning! I'm glad you like it too!

I don't live in the USA so it is probably shown on another channel. You will have to check it out. It is a medical show with a brilliant doctor who is way off the wall. It kind of grows on you as I did not like it at first until I got to know the character. Thank you for responding
