What kind of patient are you when you are sick?

Hi there friends, as many of you may know who read my postings regularly, I'm a frequent flyer at the hospital due to my many medical issues. I often joke that I learned to speak medical - ease along with English when I was a child. I can rival the best student in any of my given specialties.
I was at yet anther appointment on Monday, am well I was waiting I was thinking of all of you, until I got more and more impatient. Generally I am a very patient person who doesn't like to get mad at anyone, but, I issued an ultimatum as sorts to my doctors, because I've had enough of waiting. The details are too long and convoluted for me to give you here.
But, my question is this when you are sick, are you a good patient or a terrible patient to deal with? Like I said. Most of the time I'm a good patient but I lost my temper on Monday.
As always your comments are appreciated. Happy Mylotting!

I know where you are coming from. I lost my patience last wednesday with my consultant. I walked out. I usually am very good and take and do what they tell me, but I was not talked too very nicely and was accussed in the wrong. I myself have a couple of health issues and now another this week and it can wear you down running here and there.
Sorry you lost your temper on Monday, but I bet you where in the right.
Overall though I am a good patient to deal with.

Hildas, Thanks for the kind words and for your support. I think I have a healthy store of patience, but sometimes, there's just one little thing that irks you beyond that breaking point and you just lose it just as I did on Monday and you did on Wednesday. I think we're only human, and at some point the lid on the pressure cooker may just explode.
Let's just hope there aren't too many people around when the volcano explodes!

I try to be a good patient but I'm thinking I might be a pain.lol I've been lucky enough at this point not to have had any major issues. The times I have had treatment I'm pretty good until they whip out the needles..then things start to get a little rowdy.lol..not really rowdy but I whine about them quite a bit. Happy Mylotting.

I think I am a patient patient. It is especially true if I have to go to the hospital or something. I know that things are slow there and don't expect it to be otherwise. I can tell you that general sickness is when I just want to be left alone though!

I am the kindest sick person in the world... ehehehe. Never loose my mind. But most of the times I do anything not to go to the hospital because I hate the noise, the smell and the waiting. that makes me even more sick then the illness itself.

When im sick I like to lay in bed and watch tv till I fall asleep. I perfer to be at my grandmothers because she always picks up my faviorte food for me to eat. She is the best at taking care of me since I usually take care of her. There is nothing like grandmas lemonade to make me feel better quicker.

I tend to be a good patient. When I was 10 I was in a big camper fire explosion and had to stay in the hospital for 5 months, maybe a bit longer. I have a high pain tolerance, thank goodness, and the only times I cried were when the blisters busted or the nurses took off the bandages that had pieces of tender skin attached - that hurt! I never cry when I get shots and I give blood often. I tend to joke with the doctors, unless they are the ones who don't know what they are doing like the one time I was doubled over in pain and they said there was nothing wrong with me...uh, yeah! There is!!!!

I am a pretty good patient, but then again, on average, I see a doctor at least once every month because of the health problems that I have (Asthma, allergies, a weak immune system, IBS, and a few other things that would take me a long time to name). I have taken so many antibiotics that I can pretty much name them all and the side effects then they are given to me. Blood tests are getting easier every time I go to the doctor.

When I was little, I tended to whine. Now, I tend to downplay stuff and only go to the doctor if I'm really really sick. Trying to get me to go to the hospital is like pulling teeth. Once, when I was sick the doctor had to call back twice to actually make sure I went to the ER because I was trying to get out of it.

I do not like being in a hospital and I would not be a good patient but be one who wants to get out of there in a hurry. Cheers!!

I do tend to get a little mean. But really not that much. The only time i really get upset is if i get a headache. Then everything hurts and i don't wanna deal with anyone.

My mom was a registered nurse so she was never a very good patient!! I guess I must have learned a lot from her since I have never been a very good patient either. I remember one time I had a really bad infection and they wanted me to have IV antibiotics for a week and I bluntly told them there was no way that I was staying at the hospital for a week and I would go without before I would stay. Well in the end they let me go home and let my mom hook up the IV everyday and change everything so that I would follow through with it!! It still was awful having to have it but ti made it easier being at home.

i don't think i'm a good patient. I have only stay in a hospital once and i was relunctant to stay, initally wanted the doctor to discharge me but thye refuse to do so. Want me to stay for observation and throughout the whole night, i can't sleep well. Keep waking up. I don't like to stay in a hospital. My temper quite bad when i stay in the hospital and i'm quite demanding. Keep demanding them to discharge me.

I'm a very quiet patient and when I was hospitalized to have surgery done on my ovarian cysts, I checked into the hospital by myself. I hate being taken care of by people and I always worry when I have visitors. It was like being on vacation. LOL. And at night when the halls are deserted, that's when I like to get up and walk. But generally, I am a good patient to my doctors.

Being a mommy I tend to be a pretty good patient.....since I rarely have the time to lay around and be sick. I make my own soup, get my own juice and water, administer my own medicine.......all while keeping the house clean and taking care of the children (hubby included). It would be nice to be sick like other people. i think the only time I got sick and was allowed to be ill until I recovered was when I had my miscarriage. My husband really came through for me then, but do I have to practically die to get a little rest and TLC?? LOL. Happy myLotting!

I am the best possible patient to deal with when I am sick! I don't bother anyone. i just lay down in my bed and try to get plenty of rest without bothering anyone for anything. In my mind anyway. One of the reasons my wife insists I eat so healthy and get in so many fruits and veggies is as a preventive tool. She wants me to be as healthy as possible so she doesn't have to cope with me when I am sick. Thank god she loves me, because I can be quite a pill.

Hi again wheel416! Hope you're well now. I am a very good patient as I was a nursing student before and I understand some things that happens in the hospital. But sometimes it can be a diffirent story when you're not feeling well and something annoying really happens which only worsens you're situation. I may not say anything bad but it will diffinitely make me feel worse!

I'm a good patient that doesnt say much. I want to look tough even though it hurts. I try to be quiet so it'd be faster to get over with. I dont really enjoy going to the doctors because they have to do alot of thing. The wait times are sometimes really crazy even though I dont see anything going on. I try to be healthy now so I dont ever go to the hospital again.
