As a Pet owner,How do you feel when your pet has to spend time with the vet, especially if it's overnight for a scheduled procedure? Do you miss the clatter of claws on the floor as they're doing their rounds of the house,or the scratching at the door to be let in (assuming Your furry Friend gets to go outside?)
Do You,in short, miss them being around?

It's not just missing my pet when I leave them at the vet but I feel horrible. I've only ever had to leave my pets at the vet a few times and I cried when I did so because I felt so bad for them when I did so because they have no idea what's going on and are scared to be left in a strange place. I feel lonely and sad until I bring them home again!

Yep..it feels a bit like in one of Robin William's standup routines when He's describing leaving their young kid with a childminder for the first time..What the childminder could be like, how you never checked out their background, and you walking away as the kid is pressed against the window watching you leave them behind...!

You should look out for the performance sometime...him miming the anguish of the kid against the glass while He's walking away acting "broken" was inspired acting

My pets have never had to stay in overnight but, I know if they did I would be very worried about them! I have left them in kennels when we've been away and that is hard for me! x

My cat doesn't like to see the "Pet Taxi" being brought out....I can well understand that standpoint,as it can only have bad connoitations for him, being that he only goes into it (and he does NOT go in easily!) when going either to the vet or to the kennels when I have to go away someplace...I was talking with a Guy in the vet's waiting room yesterday evening who had a dog in for some treatment, who mentioned having had 2 cats prior to getting the dog...they had a coolbox with the same colour scheme as their Pet Taxi, and it had the same effect on the cats each time it was being brought out for a family picnic!

That's one of the hardest parts of being a pet owner, when it's necessary that they have to stay the night.
I always keep thinking they were still here... and I'll be standing in the kitchen making food, and notice that they haven't even come to sit near the entrance begging for food. I have nothing to do... the house just seems so boring. All I have to do is watch the tug-o-war toy, hoping they'd return somehow. I don't even want to imagine going through it again.

Oh, I know... it drives me insane when people are saying that.
I usually tell them I know that they're not humans... they're much more innocent and willing to listen, and it's a major put down to call them human. You can tell them anything, and they'll never tell anyone or walk away making smart comments. That's the reason I agree with the quote, "The more people I meet, the more I love dogs."
If you're being attacked by somebody, everyone will run off... but a dog will stick by you... no matter what the danger is. If only more humans were like that... -_-
