How do you get rid of writers block?

I listen to music or look at pictures, and read books. Or I just walk away till a thought pops into my head.
Sometimes I just start by staring at a blank word document page.
How about you?

Walk it off, it's just a sprain, walk it off..... That is to say, I try to write through it. It doesn't usually work but at least I am getting words on the paper which is better than not which is what would happen if I just read a book or went for a walk every time I ran into a wall, which is more often than not lately

I write in my journal, work in my art journal, and use books that contain writer's prompts (like The Write-Brain Workbook, for example).

I go out for a good brisk walk. It works every time. I come rushing back with my brain teeming with ideas, and filled with words wanting to get out and onto paper (or filed on my computer).

I'd go take a walk if I were you. Sometimes you just need to relax a little or read some other articles to get you started on those ideas again. Staring at a blank page doesn't really work for me. Other times, I just type in a few words or sentences. They may not sound right in the beginning, but I can always edit them later. Sometimes when I have writer's block, the words doesn't seem to go together. But I just try my best. Soon it will be unblocked. LOL!

I think, one of the most effective ways of getting your muse to take an interest, is to go and do something completely different. For instance, I absolutely hate vacuuming, but you sometimes get these really great ideas when you don't have pen and paper handy. Pick a topic you want to explore and then first go do something as far removed from writing as possible. Take a walk. Take a bath. You'll find that while you're occupied, your mind begins to simmer on the topic and halfway through, you will actually begin to get anxious to get finished, because by now you know exactly how you want to go about it. Try it. It works for me.
