I am sorry, I can't regard my colleagues as my friends. It's different. Colleagues are the people who I deal with in the office. I don't want they will make a big effect on my personal life.

Well, right now I am working from home and so is my husband so he is my only colleague so definitely he is my friend....more than friend..he is my best friend. But 2 years year when we were both working in an organization, we had other colleagues as well. Well what can I say....we regarded them as surface friends only..like you do your job we do ours,we don't step on their toes and they don't step on ours but if toes were stepped on then there'll be some hammering to be done (u know what I eman) we say hi we say bye, and finally we resign from the organization to start our own home business and said yippee hooray!!!!

Well, it really depends on how close you can get together with your office mates. Some people have the best of pals in the office. Some people just cannot mix the two together. It really is dependant on your relationship with the people you work with.

I think I understand what you mean. I treat some of them as friends. Most of my colleagues are just colleagues. A friend is a person you can talk your heart out. But we do not do that with a colleague. Sometimes, I do not even complain my work to colleagues. Well, you never know what you will get in return!

I consider them as friends if they are really close to me. They are just acquaintances if you're just dealing with them because of work... But I think it is possible for your colleagues to be your friends :-)

chanceless!how can i consider my colleagues as ma friends.I believe strongly that colleagues are the ones who are just ma companions.Of course, they would be by our side when am happy but vanish away whwn am in trouble.I do not think that they are ma well-wishers.A friend is someone who has been from heaven to me.she is like another of my family member. She will be by ma side even if the whole world is against me and criticizes me.I have numerous colleagues but three dear friends and 22 friends

hey,i think colleagues can regard as freinds bcoz you can't work properly in your office without any friendly relationship.....if you have that relationship then they can help you in the work in illness.....

I can get on well with them, but I just don't regard them as my friends. Look, I can lose my temper to my friends sometimes, but I can't do that to my colleagues. So this is the difference.

Hi youless! In my business before, I have enjoyed good relationship with both of my suppliers and customers. However, it is a business relationship. Although some of them have shown interest in making the relationship grow into a more personal level such as being friends. But the friendship ended when my business closed down. They are now just mere acquaintances of mine. So, if you ask me if I regard colleagues as my friends. I don't think so because...friends will always be there for you in all the seasons of your life. Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith210

As my wife has explained above, there you have it - she's my colleague & best friend. HahaIt's like we're a pair of hands working together. So I guess it's not like the corporate world where "professionalism" in that sense come into place. It's more than a surface level relationshipit's a lifetime commitment!~

Hey youless. Actually my partner at my former work becomes one of my best friends. Yeah, we argue and fight at work but then we are really good friends in life. We shopping together and we have fun talking about movies, fashion and we get together once two weeks or so. Guess what? Before I left for the current job, we spend the day time in the same office and then we still call each other for hours after we get off work. My bf says it's crazy, lol, but that's us. It's not bad to have yr colleagues become your friends. Then you act mind upon mind, haha and you can corporate better at work. But some of them I feel the same like you, just colleagues, haha.

Hey youless,I don't think the colleagues can be very close friends unless we have many many years working together, which will be the best way to build the trust as friend. However, nowadays,I don't think someone will stick with one company for years, say 10 years or something like that.lol~~

Dear friend colleagues also can be friends ,if their way of behaviour and attachment to you is sincere. It doesn't matter whether they work with you or outside , friends can be made anywhere. It depends upon our way of thinking.

Hi friend, Yes, I always regard my colleagues as my friends. Perhaps I am working in a small department, and I always have good relationship with my colleagues, so we are always like friends. We hang out together sometimes after working hours. Even my boss joined us sometimes. I like to work in this kind of environment, it's more friendly and we can always work together easily.

well.. maybe not all of them.. some of the people who i have worked with many, many years.. who have over the years 'shared our lives' together.. have become my friends.. and still are, even after we've each resigned and gone our separate ways... during workdays we spend most of our daylight time together (8-hours).. of course we mainly talk about work, we proritize in making sure we each complete our work on time.. but some of my staff.. i've known since they're single.. and now they're married and have children of their own.. so along the years.. we have grown to know their families as well.. we've celebrated birthdays at the office.. we've gone to each other's homes during festivities.. but normally this happens within my small group of staff... i am not good friends with everyone in the office...

To be quite honest, these days I dont call anyone a friend much less my co workers and associates. I think that is the worst mistake anyone can do is mix business with pleasure. If you have and argument, its now at work. No matter how hard you try you will a great big mess. In the end someone, hopefully not you, or I will be fired. With that being said, my answer would be a GREAT BIG HELL NO!!!...DL

So do I. Its hard to regard my colleagues as my friends mainly because we dont have much time to know each other, and there is no need to know each other a lot.

i also dont regard office colleages as friends. i have certain qualifications to whom i can rely as friend. i am really choosy of having friends because that is very important to me. if i dont like a person i will not consider her as friend though she is a colleague. its hard to trust office colleagues because some are not true.
