The 1st time I had a run in with sleep paralysis I was 21 and in the military. I woke in the middle of the night unable to move. I was scared so I tried to call out for my roommate and was unable to make anykind of noise. I felt as if there was someone watching me, and out of the corner of my eye I could see a shadow man. It felt as if he was enjoying seeing me in that state. After what felt like forever I was finally able to move again but couldnt fall back asleep because I was scared to tears and didnt understand what had happened! A few years later, out of the military and on my own, I was asleep in my bed and woke with on odd feeling like someone was in my house. I saw the shadow man make his way across my room. When I went to get up and run...I couldnt move!! It was like I was under this shadow mans spell. At this time I didnt know what sleep paralysis was and didnt mention it to anyone for fear that they would think I was crazy. Now 3 years after my last sleep paralysis, I am pregnant with my 2nd child, all of a sudden it started happening again. Shadow man has yet to show but I feel as if he is still there, watching me like its a game. As of this date, Jan 22nd 2009, I have had 5 sleep paralysis experiences in the past 2 weeks. Im starting to worry if it can harm my unborn child due to the fact that it raises heart rate and blood pressure, but Im scared to mention it to anyone for fear that anyone who hasnt had this may think Im crazy! As of right now, my sleep paralysis scares me and often when I come out of it I break into tears. I hope one day others can see that this does effect people and be able to lend a helping hand!

Well sleep paralysis is very real and very horrible, you could easily talk to someone about that - maybe you shouln't talk about the ghost man, then people would maybe think you are crazy ;)

Hallucinations are also a very real part of sleep paralysis...but no, when I have told people about it (other then here) I leave my shadow man out of it.

I know you posted this a couple months back so I hope you read this!
I to have suffered from sleep paralysis since i was in high school. I didn't know What it was either and I started looking it up. I have then since been able to not be so scared when it happens. I realize it happens and i stay calm. At least try to. I realize what is going on then I try to move something small like my finger and that usually helps. It usually takes a couple seconds to a minute to get out of it. I read about it though and reading about it definitely helps. I would do some research on it and learn more about sleep paralysis, it might make it a little bit easier for you. I don't know if it can affect an unborn child that is something you might have to talk to a doctor about.
As for the shadow. That is the MOST SCARIEST THING EVER. When I have sleep paralysis I never felt like I was being watched. I have heard people talking in my head though which is freaky. I had a whole separate experience with a shadow. It was so scary it happened to me in 9th grade and to this day I can't sleep in the dark by my self. I wouldn't recommend telling people about the shadow because trust me they will think your crazy. I have told only close friends and they all are like no that didn't happen. Blah blah blah so I would definitely leave the shadow part out.
Anyway sorry this is so long. I hope you do read his even though you posted it a while back. I hope this helps you also even just a little.
